Pixel art! (digital and physical alike)

I am getting better at pixels mostly by sheer force of will and desire to art. (I have spacial processing issues that make regular drawing hard, but with pixels I can count squares and fiddle with it until it "looks right"). I really like editing Pokemon sprites - recoloring, pokefusions, etc - it's very calming for me. I made Kiddo a trainer sprite and gijinka team bc she freaking LOVES pokemon, but it's on the thumbdrive of refugees from my dead laptop that I....cannot find.

Mspaint and mouse! Okay, several mice because holy smokes this thing took more than a year, and I really love mouse clicks, okay. 2007, and I've never attempted this again. Coloring makes no sense to me. Pencil is just so much easier to deal with.

Heh, thank you. I really wanted to make gift art for my favorite writers and didn't own a camera, a monitor with built in camera, or a scanner at the time...so, yeah.

Actually, I taught myself to draw to piss my mother off. It worked. I started drawing in the computer so she can't destroy it.

She was ashamed. This was the artist class, my family is military, and how dare I think I can be one of the artisans. I'm just embarrassing the family and myself. She would rip up my stuff, throw it in fires and point out all the flaws, and I would agree just to get her out of my face but continued to try and get better out of spite.

 

I've designed most of the 18 symbols for my worldbuilding stuff! (The last two are proving challenging. Possibly I need to expand on the concepts for them before I can come up with good imagery for them...)

But, about the art itself... I'm still sticking to the challenge I gave myself: design 18 symbols for the drives/organizations/gods, where the symbols are good for making metaphors about the god.

The symbols themselves are restricted to 3 strokes: 1 major stroke of 1 or 2 curls, 2 minor strokes that can't be full spirals.

The pixelized versions, as before, all have either 10x17 or 17x10 dimensions.

And I've arranged them in a circle on my wall! The order of the circle has to do with which of the Deities they're all about.
