There's an Earth cliché about medics' handwriting and how awful it is. For me, it goes for spelling things that aren't the formal names for different parts, too. Noted!

I'm not condemning anyone. I'm offering my perspective. And I did say that sometimes it's necessary to use the dead to sustain the living, and that's more important than anything else.

But. I - me, personally - find a little solace in the idea of... something that remains, past the spark. Some trace in the world. Memories, names, effects, and sometimes... just the frame. Besides - you see enough dead, sometimes you get to talking to them like they're people, and it's a hard habit to shake.

 

Seems a bit silly to me, but I guess everyone's got their quirks. Dunno if there's supposed to be anything left of cannon fodder though. Ain't that the whole point of makin' cannon fodder in the first place, because you don't have to worry about that none?

Whether there was "supposed to be" or not, there should have been. People - all people - should get a chance to make a mark on their world.

What I want and what actually happens are rarely one and the same.

 

But-- that's the point, all that's left of the dead are memories, gives them a reason to return instead of rusting in the Well forever! The Lost guards them while they rest but you can't just recharge forever!
