Some fucker stole my bike last summer. I still look closely at any black bike I see on the street to see if it's mine.
i remember when my bike was stolen. i still get a bit of a malicious chuckle thinking about the first time they would've tried to brake while going really fast. the back tire brake was broken but it wasn't immediately noticeable unless you already knew it was there. so only the front would have stopped. they would've gone flying over the handlebars, hopefully into some gravel or something. asshole.
Awww what a pity! :( never fun when a bike gets stolen. I wonder... Perhaps you could find it in the second hand bike store at the train station? (if you're Dutch) I know quite a few of them sell stolen bikes. It's what happened to a friend of mine when hers got stolen. I can't remember how she got it back, all I know is that she raised a huge enough stink to get the owner to just give it to her and get rid of her. Not to give you false hope though, it's a small chance they'll sell it that close. In any case, hugs.
I'm not sure... I reported it to the police. Around here it's more likely to be junkies though. And good luck finding a bike that was stolen and sold by a junkie. (And, yes I am Dutch :P )
Ah, in my city it's mainly criminals doing it for profit. That sucks!! :( I hope your next bike won't get stolen.
Yeah. I really hope so too. Though I suppose to was bound to happen sometime :P I have never had a bike stolen in all my 23-and-a-half years.
I've been lucky, so far. But I have had them vandalised - people stole my bicycle bell, or my wheels. >:( the one I have now is an old rust bucket nobody wants to steal. (Touch wood!!)
Aww, dude, I'm sorry. :( *giant hugs* I hear you--mine got stolen when I was little and I haven't ridden a bike since. x_x Here's hoping another nice bike rides into your life soon.
^Kinda has too :P It's my main form of transportation, and without it I can't do anything much. I'm going bike shopping on Thursday.
That really sucks. Do you have the serial number? (if you don't, you can probably check with the shop where you bought it as long as they have electronic records) Because if you do, a lot of bike stores are happy to keep an eye out for people bringing in bikes that are stolen, and I know the shops I've worked at have managed to help get bikes back to people that way. Might not work, but it'd be a chance!
I have the frame number (it's necessary for the report to the police), and I could try that. Thanks :)
