Neither did I. I stated that screwing people over was not how I acquired my current financial status.

I've done a large number of things that I regret, like most of us have. But I really haven't done anything to deserve being eaten. Especially since people in the Pennarine Imperium do not have to go hungry. I don't know that we've eliminated 100% of poverty because there are always people who won't accept help and there are always people who want to live outside the law. But we've certainly done a better job of it than most other societies do.

 

Do you not know what 'eat the rich' means? Hint: Not literal.

Anyway, if you've managed to set things up so nobody is hurting for food and shelter at the very least...

But, about the people who would 'rather live' a life of crime - frankly, probably some of them got sucked into that by more powerful, richer people and now can't leave.

 

Anyway, I don't think the solution to poverty is hurting rich people, but I don't think there can be such thing as a meritocracy where people start out on uneven ground. You know why me and Stentato couldn't advance legit-like? Because we were spending all our time trying to make rent working for the few aftholes who were willing to hire us because they knew we couldn't afford to complain if they didn't pay us right. That's not a fair shot.
