@unknownanonymous Hawke's narrative fits the plot of Hamilton remarkably well (Hawke does not get shot by Seneschal Bran though)

 

Months ago, I wrote a tiny DA2+Hamilton mashup but it is Hella Spoilers so I'll wait to post it. :P

"My friend hawke, who I shot" mostly describes my canon hawke's relationship with the downloadable hetero, but I think hamilton and burrs relationship in the musical is still too friendly for Simon and Sebs

I like doing the Sebastian side quests, but after my first play through I just can't stand having him around

Reminder that in my favorite DA2 AU famfic, Sebastian (that's the hetero) is Garret Hawke's ex boyfriend who left Hawke because he Found Jesus, and rather than walking around with an Andraste belt he has a belt with the head of Jesus on it and Hawke's internal monologue features feeling judged by Crotch Jesus

 

By the way, since I can't just say something like that and not link the fic: it's Coffee, Black by black_ink_tide. It's Fenris/M!Hawke and despite being an AU it contains Fenris Romance Spoilers as well as some mild Plot Spoilers (regarding the competing coffee shop, the Java Shock). No character death though, which means 2 living Hawke siblings and guest performances from Carver's Box of Porn

 

I read a modern AU of DA2 once where the Grey Wardens were a coffee shop run by Duncan, and when people started working there they had to perform the joining-equivalent which was drinking a huge cup of the store's strongest coffee.

ALSO: I am fleeing the mountains and, with them, upload hell. Sooooooon

 

I still think the best modern AU you could do of most video games is a gaming group AU. In canon, they run around hitting monsters with magic and swords. In this fic, they run around hitting monsters with magic and swords, but only on weekends.

 

Iirc they were a guild in an MMO in this fic! I didn't write down the name or bookmark it, though >.>;

 

I also like the DnD AUs.

 

(I'm still pleased with the Persona 3 DnD fic I wrote at like 4 AM once. They have bad luck with DMs; they've barely wriggled out of two Rocks Fall Everyone Dies events now.)

 

It's Wicked Grace by lyriumveins! It's ALSO M!Hawke/Fenris and is ongoing. It's really fun.

Spoiler: Codex - Aveline - After the Deep Roads

Since the adventure in the Deep Roads, Aveline has settled into life as the captain of the guard. She has removed the stain of Captain Jeven's corruption and turned the guardsmen into effective enforcers of law and order.
Becoming captain of the guard title should have brought Aveline stability, but she has instead found herself taxed by having so many people under her care. She is very protective of the people she commands, to the point of training each guardsman herself and personally reinforcing otherwise simple patrols. Injury rates are lower than ever before, but the guards are beginning to feel smothered.
Aveline is utterly dedicated to her job, leaving no time for anything beyond the occasional sidetrack with Hawke—even that is an excuse to watch over people she cares about. She is a guardian in every waking moment, and she doesn't seem to know how to put down the weight she carries.

Being Aveline is.. suffering?
