    Hell yeah!

Yeah, this makes sense- and like we said upthread, maybe there could be a looser system for transferring, should it be needed.

I think maybe transferring is possible but discouraged to cut down on too much moving around, but houses are chosen and not sorted after the first three years?

    Wix/wixen sounds good.
    Yeah, less strict borders.

There's a building above ground, but it looks like a pretty typical small private boarding school. Plus, it's where they keep the (magical flying) buses-

    Wait.
    Ms. Frizzle?

I feel like there's a sorting ceremony, but the results aren't declared to the school. It tells the students what dorms they could do best in, but it's up to the students to finally decide.

i'm just imagining how my incredibly rational friend would cope here.

"This is my pet freshman. No one elses."
    :hair ruffle:
(Everyone at my high school did that, 'adopting' the freshman. it was really sweet)

though i sorted adopted a senior this year...
(yeah, i'm a high school freshman, it's my second year as one, blah blah)

Eh, most of my freshmen adopted me rather than the other way around.

I adopted freshmen when I was a junior in college. It's a terrible habit.
(Now, of course, I stay inside my apartment because I have met my personal quota of adoptions)

at my school seniors have incredibly irregular schedules so the fact that i actually talked to him at all in the first place is unique.

i've kind of adopted a freshman, but only by virtue of his being my friend's little brother.

...I loudly ignored everyone at my school by the time I was a senior-equivalent.

We kind of just suck people into the friendgroup
    and occasionally explain inside jokes

Right! so we have it on/in a canyon, 6 houses, dangerous walkways, river monsters, a sick collection of puns, a thriving quodpot population, a racist and horrific teacher, a british transplant teacher, and dorm animal ghost/spirits.

(and an eldritch horror in a pear tree...)

god, i would be sunburned all the fuckin time. can i cast sunscreen charms.
realistically i would be at the preppy new england school, a half-blood or muggleborn ... but maybe i'm a transfer student? : P
i tend to avoid roleplaying self-inserts actively, but brainstorming is fun anyway. :D
