Catching all 151, er, 368, er ... a lot: The Pokemon Infodump Party!

got really lost and my phone died

10/10 would play again

 

wandered into a trailer park last night
caught a rattata and (finally) an eevee

 

i caught two eevees today!

 

I caught a gastly yessssssss
also two adorable eevees.
I have named them floofy and mini-r, because eevees are his favorite.

 

I hit a major jackpot while shoping with fam. Caught a ratatta, a ponyta, mankey, another pidgey and my crowning jewel before we left the parking lot, an eevee with 46 cp!!!

 

so, my gastly was in old navy, which okay, not the spoopiest store around
and
bath and body works? filled to the brim with birbs! why?????????

 

I named a series of weedles the dumbest names I could come up with:

like half the pokestops near me are in a graveyard

 

welp, that's a thing.
the closest one to me is in a post office/liquor store.

My closest pokestop is about two blocks away, at a Catholic church, but we're only three blocks south of our local university's campus which has TONS. Looking due north on my game map from my house I can see twenty one pokestops. We're planning an epic campus crawl sometime this weekend.

 

we went into a graveyard for the pokestops and jfc that graveyard was so old. the graves all said 1890 or older and it was segregated in fancy tombstones for the white ppl and very plain or unmarked for the black ppl and they were in the back with a fence around them. it made me very sad.

also i got a raticate and named it mcnasty and i can't decide if i hate it or love it.

double also i stg this game is the only thing in years that has gotten me out of the house and exercising regularly, it's kinda a miracle.

last also i joined the blue team for the description and immediately regretted it when i learned the teams don't have any sort of benefits right now. i wanted to be redddddd but blue sounded more my styleeeeee dangit.

 

How are you guys going with your pokedexes? I'm at 43 caught/44 seen (damn wartortle got away from me, the jerk -3-). My highest level is a 570 pidgeot. Also for those starting up, I highly recommend using your not-unlimited-use egg incubators on longer eggs for obvious reasons. There's also a theory going around that the evolution of eevees isn't actually random, but is determined by the 2nd move the eevee has... body slam is supposed to be vaporeon, dig flareon, and idk what for jolteon. Not sure it's true, but it might be worth trying out if you're going for a specific eeveelution.

 

So I finally broke down and downloaded the game... and it's not letting me catch my starter. I am tapping all around the charizard but nothing happens!

also for idiots like me who gave up on three pokestops before finally looking it up: spin the photo icon, that's how it works

 

Yeah, you have to kind of swipe the ball towards it.

Also when you get to gyms, be warned that it's not turn-based like normal Pokemon games. You fight other pokemon by tapping the screen; once the meter under your HP is full you can apparently do your second move by long-pressing? I haven't actually done that yet so. You can also swipe left and right to dodge attacks.
