Kid. You are an MTO right? Try questioning the information about organics you've been given some time. Pits, this biased education nonsense gives me joint rust.

Sentient machinery is generally not as ubiquitous as in fiction. The near fevered imaginations of an organic mind are capable of constructing vast fantastic edifices, which only at times have a foundation, or at least a corner stone, in reality.
The existence of your species is equally alien and intriguing.

...Please excuse me while I laugh myself sick.

Can you imagine? What an absolutely terrible idea. Both having only three laws and trying to get something past Ultra Magnus. Since apparently having a death wish is against the law.

I need to laugh some more don't mind me oh Primus.

Organics are perfectly capable of demonstrating sapience and do so, frequently. Sometimes by writing about enslaving robots. If we judge sapience by how many other beings we oppress, they might even catch up to us someday!

Wait, didn't Decepticons have some "kill all organics" rule? Think I may have to join Burlesque in laughing at the contrast.

The decepticon movement started so well, too. We could've had it all.

Nice as the philosophical basis was, I wouldn't really classify the movement itself as 'starting well'.

(Apostasia takes a deep breath as if to fall into a rant, and then deflates a bit.)
It was a start, back then. People followed Megatron for both his charisma and his philosophy. There was a dire need to stir up trouble, but you need a base. No matter how much Mystery covered for beastie me and flashdrive Husk, we were all disorganized. Fish on ice, divided we fall, et cetera. Megatron was a...
He went and spoke up. Went and scared the functionists scrapless, they did everything to tear him down again. But he wouldn't stop.
It was a political mess, but had he teamed up with Pax, things would've gone differently. Had, had, had, I know. Can't change the past. Things went to the pit before that.
    (Apostasia sighs)
I'm not telling you anything new here, am I.
Best we can do is learn from the past and apply it.

The sentiment was in general that mechanoid life is superior and that organics hate us and want to enslave us for their own gain anyway (evidence for that presented above, if rather weak evidence), so why not swiftly destroy them all and then cyberform their planets to further the glorious empire of our Lord Megatron, yadda yadda. I wasn't involved in that part of the war except if you count all my inventions as direct extensions of myself.
My, are barricade riots not glamorous enough for you? Do excuse us for upsetting your delicate sensibilities.

How frequently do you justify the deaths you cause with the thought that you're a monster that can't be changed? Just wondering.

Often and with abandon. With the mild alteration on the theme that I could probably try and be a good little minibot but 1) that's effort I could expend looking out for people I care about instead, and 2) Where's the fun in that.
    "Can't be changed" is bullshit.
I might consider changing my ways if you give me actual reasons for why the world doesn't need monsters like me anymore. If you can prove to me that there is nothing left for me to fight I will put away the solders and the beakers and find something else to do with myself. Until then I'd rather have a full arsenal as possible responses to people who wish to try and frag those under my protection over.

Which is really hilarious coming from RICK, of all people.

And he did the same thing with Norm.

Also, Rick, have you ever actually read Asimov?

I grew up on Asimov, Heinlein and Clarke, and while my brother says he's just grateful that a "Did You Remember To Dress?" sign isn't needed at my house, I remember more than enough Asimov to be aware that sometimes the Three Laws got bent, folded, mutilated and outright broken.

Because the existence and justification of 'monsters like you' is actively creating a more hostile universe for the rest of us? I suppose if your only goal is to make yourself and those you like too scary to approach, that might work for... oh, maybe three seconds. And then you become a threat.

Did you like having someone more powerful than you dictating everything you could and could not do based upon a vague notion of nonpersonhood that didn't stand up to the facts? Or do you just like doing it to others?

I mean, I started out all organic - we eventually had to replace a bit is all. And let's see... looks like I still have some med school textbooks in my local storage? They might assume you have more background knowledge than you actually do, but I could answer questions as they come up.

    No.
Because I know I'm not as hurt by being a monster as others would be.
And because I will gleefully dismantel anyone who asserts that the first decision I ever made was a wrong one without knowing why I made it.
But the thing you talk about is also pretty annoying.

If you feel threatened by me just say so, Burlesque, I promise I won't scratch you up too badly.
As for that second thing, I'm afraid I'm not sure what you are trying to angle that low blow for.
I'm quite aware the people I threaten with violence are people. I'm not in the business of Pest Exterminators, I'm a career terrorist.
