Briar Tyrell (Mushroom's) - various thrown weapons including explosive throwing knives and Dust bombs (named after fruits e.g. Durian, Cherry) - takes everything seriously and has trouble understanding humour. Prefers to solve her problems with explosives. Rhoda d'Endra (mine) - Big Fucking Sword (Viola) - loud, rough, really inappropriate/dark sense of humour. Nicknames everyone. Alienates the people she cares about with her inability to express genuine emotion. Welp, as predicted, as soon as the main series drops even a little bit of footage I turn into RWBY trash again. By the way there's a new RWBY short on the RoosterTeeth site. Spoiler Also it's a good thing that Ruby is so fast because she telegraphs horribly.
Those look to me to be new manifestations of her semblance to zoom places really fast! New footage looks very exciting! I'm loving the direction Volume 4 seems to be going. This is the sort of content I envisaged when I saw the initial four trailers, with the characters out in the world, fighting monsters. When Volume 1 started and the show promptly transformed into a high school anime, I'll admit to being slightly disappointed. Now, we appear to be actually approaching that initial image that was so striking - fairytale-heroine-warriors fighting hordes of monsters in the woods, and kicking ass. I'm very excited! I'm hoping that it's going to prove that the first three volumes' Beacon stuff was largely setup for a broader plot with wider implications than volume 1 sorta fooled us into thinking would be the series scope, as opposed to what was in the colours trailers. :D
