I can't say I know, sadly. I'm not terri8ly familiar with witches of your like or familiars for that matter. I suppose it would 8e silly to ask if you've tried to summon them again here, or however it is it works? Or perhaps there would 8e new ones to make?

With familiars, however, in my world a familiar becomes a witch's familiar as a kind of occupation. We're quite powerful, both magically and politically, so it's considered a pretty high honor to be hired by a witch as a familiar. My familiars are all very important people to me, especially Samekichi. They are my closest friends, and could never be replaced.

Ah! I didn't mean to say that they could 8e replaced, though admittedly I don't understand how this all works. The closest experience I have to anything I could call "familiars" would 8e my sprite, which isn't the same at all likely. I was more implying that you could make other friends, as well. They could even possi8ly help you in your search for your familiars.

It is, alas, the folly of the bipedal mind to attempt for a solution even in the face of utmost adversary. A noble pursuit in hope for a more auspicious relation between the participant parties, however.

 

Perhaps my life has brought me to a different understanding of ethics. A belief in looking after myself first because nobody else will care. A suspicion and distrust of the idea of personal sacrifice. Not that I am as selfish as all that. I look after myself so that I might better look after others.

That could 8e the case! I myself was raised this way. It is the purpose of my caste to look out for those 8eneath me, especially one with my unique a8ilities. I suppose I am overstepping a 8it with my watching after castes a8ove myself as well, 8ut I do feel that I may as well expend the effort. After all, if not me then who?
