I very much think they will not handwave the huge check, and that money will in fact facilitate stuff in future episodes, as per @Acey's post. SU doesn't put in plot details that can change things considerably and then just drop them.
Ugh i missed it. Got distracted by fic writing. Gonna watch the two episodes off wosu and then watch it properly tomorrow night.
Spoiler THIS EPISODE WAS SO GOOD SO FREAKING GOOD I could see the writing on the wall, that Steven was trying to push them to connect and make up a little bit but it actually turned out plausible "she always did what she wanted to" and shared crying laughter I can believe that as a way for them to connect that fond despairing over their mutual love and also their mutual love of steven i'm pretty happy with how this one went and the hinting question of "it's over now isn't it?" echoing again at the end of the episode reminds me of "if you could only know what we really are"
Not gonna lie, I cried a little. Spoiler: Mr. Greg PEARL'S SONG. Holy shit, I got a little weepy. (And if anyone out there still thinks Pearl wasn't in love with Rose...)
MAN at that bit I turned and said to J Spoiler: mr. greg spoilers "This couldn't be any more gay if they put big flashing letters spelling out GAY in the background." SHE LOVES ROSE SO MUCH. ;_; And hey, I was right about the check! (Even all those shenanigans couldn't have eaten the entire thing up.)
Spoiler: for Mr. Greg Oh wow, I got chills during Pearl's song. I think this might actually be my favourite SU song now ;-; It's blatantly obvious how much she was in love with Rose. Also, god damn, Pearl looks dapper as fuck in a tux! Man, I really hope Greg didn't somehow blow his whole check on that evening. I really hate that trope in cartoons where characters get a lot of money and then blow it in a single episode to keep the status quo. SU seems to be heavy on continuity and keeping changes though, so I hope there's gonna be more to it.
