Spoiler: Pearl's Song

I have no idea if I'm wildly misinterpreting or what, but it's fucked up if Rose was playing Pearl and human men off of each other and making a game of choosing. I'm honestly confused if Pearl was making a "game" of who she'd pick or what, but. If anyone wants to help me work out the huge misgiving abt Rose's character that just popped up in my head I'd be grateful.

I don't really think that's what happened, my suspicion is Rose had had flings before and everyone involved was aware it wasn't serious, and then Greg happened and Pearl couldn't understand what was different.

yeah, the gist I got from Pearl was, the difference and problem this time was that Rose fell in love. None of those other times, and so it was play, and mutually understood play at that.

This time... Rose fell in love. But not with Pearl. And that... that was the thing that tore at Pearl ever since.

 

Pearl's song is fantastic and I love it, but I actually think my favorite song of the episode was Steven's song at the end.

It just ties in so nicely to this shows themes about love, and how talking through your feelings and your problems instead of bottling them up is the way to go, the song and the visuals were so beautiful.

 

ngl I was hoping for a fusion at the end there

 

Well, fusion is a "conversation" where both parties have to be in sync mentally and emotionally, and it involves dancing. So they did "fuse" on some level, like when Rose and Greg danced together.

Also if Greg and Rose never physically fused it'd be weird if Pearl and Greg could.

 

Jesus. I think Pearl's song might be tied with Made of Love for top songs now.

Yeah. Steven can fuse with humans because he's sufficiently biological to do it; the gems can't. We don't yet know if Steven can fuse with another gem!

Man. That (Mr. Greg) was the best Steven Universe episode since January. So many good songs! So many emotions!
