I honestly think there are some really important things about the nature of consciousness and human neurology/cognition to be learned from people with DID, and I'm kinda disappointed that science isn't getting on that post-haste.

(Not to imply that people with DID should be, like, test subjects or anything, unless they volunteer to do that. It's just that I already feel like I've learned so much from this thread, just by asking questions!)

Do you have a lot of control in regards to when alters front/sit in the passenger seat with whoever is currently fronting? Is it easy to change who's fronting, and how long does a change take? Can changes happen fairly rapidly?

I'm pretty sure it's just me in my head???????? I mean there are multiple me's but they are all me and we shout at each other a lot. But Me!Me is only ever the one in charge, even if the other me's are strongly disagreeing with what I'm doing. But I guess I still consider them separate to the true me but they're not... different people??? Isn't this just auto-personification??? I'm very confused now.
