Spoiler: I think I agree There's something unsatisfying about a knowing and deliberate misleading of the gems. I think I'd rather assume it's ignorance or incompetence, not malevolence. (Even with the diamonds: YD and BD reminded me more of Condy from Homestuck, self-assured and entitled rulers who are by ~nature~ and social conventions a class apart. They don't know or care how it feels to be anyone else. Because the wonder of life on earth in SU seems to be a matter of appreciating, even cherishing, differences. The wonder of fusion as the Crystal Gems discovered is communicating through those differences. The show is a lot about discovering compassion. Eta though.... I do wonder how the gems came to exist in the first place. Were they designed? If so, by who, and to what purpose?

yeah. I wonder if that was on purpose. He looks so alien and out of place on a meta level as well as the obvious in universe reasons.
there was so many good jokes in this episode, though. and the end with yellowtail and sour cream made me tear up. just, supportive step parents who care and the whole overarching message that just because they're not biologically related they can still be your "real" parent is something i would have loved to have seen as a kid. it wasn't forced or a Big Issue it was just there. i love this show.

Spoiler: New episode! Ugh Lars ...ok but relationships are sensitive things and I can sorta see Lars not wanting- OH GOD NO. THIS IS SUPER CREEPY.AND PROBABLY VERY SECONDHAND EMBARRASSING PROBABLY OH GOD. Yeah ok I'm not watching this until I can read a synopsis.

i mean, they DANCED. there's so much tied to dancing in this series, it's one of the closest things you can do and there's so much emotion behind it and. and i just. i can't. i'm so happy.
Spoiler: the new lars the new lars @dailymotion ...oh jeez body swap. i'm gonna sit this episode out for now, and read spoilers to get a sense of how bad the second hand embarrassment quotient is gonna be.
sorry i don't mean to spam the thread i just kinda felt like liveblogging my feels about the new episodes. i'm trying (and probably failing) to not be too spoilery. the next one looks like it has peridot! i'm excite.

oh hey that's a good idea. i might do that next time, i'm already almost caught up by now (probably gonna wait on that lars episode for the same second hand embarrassment reasons as everyone else).
