Seen someone very similar to you in here only recently-- @Torisen Black Lord? Name and appearance rather similar, though admittedly sharing frametype and designation does not make two the same.

Well, considering that I'm the Knorth Jameth and Highlord Torisen is my brother that might clear matters up some. Or not Jameth actually, but it is the name I've been going by as of late.

...going to pretend that made sense and just roll with it, explanation appreciated but don't have requisite context for names.... titles? to mean anything. Brother works well enough, though, assuming it even means the same thing as everyone was arguing about last night.

It's a cultural thing; it's simply easier to let people assume that my name is actually Jameth. Leads to a bit less leering than correcting them with it being Jamethiel.

Can't say I have context for this argument, but the definition my people use would be "male sibling". Which is to say you have the same parents. We're twins to be specific, born at the same time. It's to be expected that we're easy to mistake for one another. I'm not sure what definition you would use?

Ah, twins is the... well. The accepted Neocybex definition-- mechs who share a spark, who share each others' pain and joy and, in some cases, injuries and thoughts. Mechs from my homeplanet are capable of artificially inducing twinning, but Cybertronian science is apparently a scrapheap anyway so not really surprised they're wrong about that. "Parents" is... biological progenitor(s)?

Brother... eh. There was a discussion last night about "can non-twinned mechs call each other brother," something something adopted crewmates (as makes sense to me) something something only-deity-ordained-blah-blah-Primus-jetfuel. Originally brought up by someone who claimed to be twinned but apparently isn't? Don't see how that's anyone's business but theirs, but then social things are often confusing to me.

Personally accepted definition of "brother": "masculine closest-friend," which in my case would include both the one I'm courting and one who has already bonded... eh, prepositions are hard... with-to me? That doesn't sound right and the actual words are false cognates to other things in Neocybex, don't really want to see if things are just as confusing in... whatever this space uses.

Oh, right. You're not "organic" so the parents situation might be lost on you. Or is rather. Parents would be biological progenitors, yes. Sorry about that.

I have to admit the whole "brother" argument is more than a bit lost on me. Which I suppose is a given considering that we're apparently very different beings. Or, well, it's more than apparent honestly.

Your variant of "twins" is rather...interesting? It sounds similar to our mindbonding or bloodbonding, at least in function. Part of the function, at any rate.

Some mechanoid species have parents! Just not mine, and... am not much a biologist. "Can it kill us" is about as far as I really care to know about most nonsapients. (...or sapients, for that matter, but in their case the answer is generally "yes" anyway.)

Bloodbonding I think someone explained earlier in here? Can't recall who...
Anyway, sounded more like a control-thing? Am not personally twinned so couldn't say, and also don't have much knowledge of bloodbonding. Artificial twinning at least doesn't induce control over one's partners! It's... well. It's supposedly a romantic thing in Corion but I'm not really interested in going that far, being mindlinked to my crew is...

...would be more than enough. Rather liked being able to not... "hear," for lack of better words, if I didn't want to "listen" to whatever they were doing. Wouldn't really want to not be able to get peace and quiet.

....anyway. Believe @Lacuna and @Stentato are naturally twinned? They might be able to explain how it works better.

It's definitely more about control, yes. Hence the "part of the function" bit. You are very keenly aware of the other person's thoughts during it, though.

Mm, fair. Knowing thoughts does make predicting actions easier, and... can see how that would apply to control.

    Thanks for indulging curiosity =]

Same to you. This is certainly a lot more interesting than my lessons have been.

Unfortunately not. The "Women's World" is just where I happen to be stuck.

Escape is impossible, sadly. It's only a matter of time before I'm hounded down by a friend of mine.

...Jameth knows Jameth's situation best, but "impossible" rarely true.

  17. Torisen Dreamwalker

    Torisen Dreamwalker The Knorth Jameth

Oh, it's definitely not impossible. As in actually so. Socially however this is apparently my place.

Again, Jameth knows Jameth's situation best. Not going to try to make plans working with no information. Just... the restriction feels wrong. Even if the chains aren't around me. "Staying in one's place [socially]": a concept only recently learned of, and even that from a society that just finished four million years of war. Do not like the idea. At all.

Yeah. "Staying in one's place [socially]" can get fucked.

Neither do I, honestly. It's definitely not what I expected upon "coming home". Still, I'd rather not provoke the ire of the matriarchs and the like.
