Eh, people make up weird nicknames for family. First-syllable + other word is pretty normal, it's how my little sister got the nickname Teapot.
I feel like lapis should try to slap you with a bunch of water bullet hands and then turn them into chains to try to drag you around with, malachite style. Maybe have an untouchable ocean of bullety death at the bottom of the screen that she's trying to drive or drag you into. Maybe have all her attacks originate from somewhere else on the screen than where she is, because she's pulling from where there's water.

ah what a good post. i get wanting there to be Deep Angst about the pearl/rose/greg sitch but also i feel like a lot of the sad headcanons are ignoring actual canon and making everything more tragic than it was (tho it is pretty tragic anyway). i saw a post on my dash that was like "rose loved greg so much she died for his child!! and now pearl has to care for him!!! how hard!!!!!" and i just :///// imho that's not what went down at all, and that phrasing kind of takes away rose's agency
Spoiler: new lars thoughts Huh. that wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was gonna be. parents - maybe it's because i'm an eternal optimist, but it seems like they really do want the best for him. they said they let him move into the attic - where was he living before? what was that situation like? maybe they haven't always been coddling him? i dunno, i want more info there. they seem really tired and expecting the worst - i got a slightly surprised tone from the "he didn't curse at us even once", rather than fear ... i feel like their nervousness was played up because it's a cartoon? i dunno. if this is how they've been with him for a long time, then yeah, that's a huge problem. but maybe there's more to it? Steven - he started out as okay as he could, I think ... he really didn't want to fuck things up, he wanted to give Lars a chance at the stuff he really wants to do (i.e. the Cool Kids). when he met his parents he was genuinely confused - i don't think he would have guessed that Lars was nasty to his parents, too, so he tried to just be polite, like he thought would be the right thing to do. that all really went downhill with Sadie, though ... honestly, i feel like Lars' outburst at Steven (the night before the mind swap) was pretty well justified. Steven does need to butt out of Lars' and Sadie's business. Sadie - she wasn't afraid to kick Lars out. I feel like that says something? (though, again, kids' show, i dunno where the Crewniverse is drawing the line in portrayals of nasty relational shit.) she had no idea that wasn't actually Lars that she was yelling at. i dunno. certainly not a healthy friendship, that's for damn sure. Lars post-swap - so Lars was just sleeping all day? man, i'd be right freaked out in his situation. should he have gone for Steven like that? nah of course not. dude definitely has anger problems. but a whole group of people - including your parents and the group of people you most want to impress - are pissed off at you for (as far as you know) literally no reason at all? i'd be angry too. Lars in general - man, that kid has issues. where was he living before his parents' attic? in the end scene where Steven apologizes ... he seems legitimately hurt that Sadie thought he would only tell her he loved her to hurt her - and the way he acquiesces, and talks about how everyone liked Steven-Lars better than Lars-Lars ... that reeks of depression. he does not like who he is. i dunno why he hasn't figured out how to change that ... what's the root of his anger? maybe this whole episode will make him start treating Sadie better? final thoughts - the Crewniverse doesn't usually do character development with no point. beyond introducing Steven's astral projection ability, i don't think this is gonna be the end of it. Lars did acknowledge that his behaviour hasn't been great, and Steven did realize that he fucked up. I want to believe that Sadie's a strong enough character to continue actively standing up to Lars when he's an asshole, and I want to believe that Lars is gonna start realizing what effect his behaviour actually has on people (and on his own ambitions). and I want Steven to realize he can't fix everyone. Spoiler: beach city drift ...how did Stevonnie learn to drive that well.
Spoiler: spoilers about a possible leak it seems like we're going to get a jasper episode or multiple of them at some point in these summer episodes. with that in mind and the 'theme' of these past few episodes being 'sometimes people are just jerks that you can't change or reason with' (kevin) and 'sometimes people are jerks and need to change over time on their own' (lars) i'm kind of thinking that maybe that's a set up for jasper not being changeable. which... kind of bugs me. i know it's not really baked in reason for me but i do kind of want her to join the gems. and it's mostly because i like her a lot as a character and think she has a cool design. so i hope it's not 'jasper is a jerk and will always be a jerk' and is more 'jasper is kind of a jerk to the point that steven can't just win her over into being a 'good guy', but she'll at least begrudgingly or out of necessity join their cause'.
Spoiler: wrt Aniseed's post I am hoping we see more of Jasper's view of the world (universe? lol). Like, where are her loyalties? To Homeworld, to Yellow Diamond, to her rank in society? Just from what we've seen, she doesn't seem like the type to beg, so if her failure as an escort loses her her social status or YD's approval, I would guess she would go off on her own before she would try to win something back? That could easily keep her a villain (perhaps wanting revenge) or make her an unfriendly side character or something (perhaps united with the Crystal Gems against a common enemy, as @Aniseed suggested). I agree that, given the theme, it is likely we'll see Jasper be someone who either can't be changed or who isn't easily changed. So, she'll continue to be an aggressive person who loves to fight. But maybe her motivations or alliances will change, which could drastically affect her behavior. tldr; MORE JASPER

Just popping in to say, though I've said as much many times before, that I'm glad I live in a time where "It's Over, Isn't It" is shown on public TV and the show keeps running for the rest of the summer (knock on wood just in case). Jeeze, that's so absurdly true to my experience, it feels so real that it almost feels pandering, which is something I hardly ever feel about TV things.
