Spoiler It's funny how Rose's Room is a parallel for making imagination seem real. Steven pushing at people to be friends and in love the way he thinks they should be... The difference between Room!Connie and person!Connie... The way Steven resented the hell out of Kevin for being a creep... I wonder how Rose used that room's power. I wonder if she was as willing to pressure people to be who she wanted them to be, if she used the room to get some of the fantasies out of her system or what...

Same though. Spoiler When Steven's first idea to fix this was to use the power of love, it... I dunno. It actually sort of disappointed me, I think? Because SU felt like it started out being about how not all love is romantic, but Steven's been seriously headed that way. I think he might be sort of idealizing Garnet a bit and how Ruby and Sapphire's romantic love fixed a lot of their problems? And therefore he sort of is trying to apply that to everyone... but I think he's started to forget the fact that you can't just say "be in love now!" and everything's okay. It takes time and it takes work and it takes communication. And I'm not sure where Steven's ideas about love in these most recent episodes is coming from but... I'm actually sort of hoping that Steven ends up learning from this. It's just so weird to come so soon after Mr. Greg, which was such a good episode about communication and getting along without romantic love being involved.
i was trying to hold in my laughter because it's late but as soon as the forming a line joke with onion was done i laughed so hard i couldn't breathe. i love that kind of humor. that and the hair thing with fryman. this was a nice episode to come back to after a viewing. i feel really bad for ronaldo though :(
I had to stop watching at the scene with the flowers. Steven Universe didn't use to hit me in the embarassment squick this hard. :( First Hit the Diamond, then this...
i've been playing that new su game and one of the earth accessories you can have is the fryman hat. except we learned in the last episode the fryman hat is actually his hair and a visor. i don't know what to believe anymore.
...People didn't know that was his hair? It's the same as Ronaldo's and Peedee's, just a different shape. I mean, I thought it was a hat for a while, too, but then we saw his kids. ...that sounds more judgemental/superior than I'd like it to, but I am too tired to try to figure out a better way to say it. v___v Spoiler: my favorite part of Restaurant Wars "MY OHIME-SAMAAA~!!" I slapped my leg so hard while laughing that my leg and hand were still tingling after the episode ended. Also also, Koala-hime!! That was the anime people were arguing about on the message boards in the episode where Steven dressed up as a snake person, or snerson.
Spoiler: spoilers and speculation Honestly, with all of the Steven Meddling In Relationships stuff, I'm hoping they're setting us up for a Jasper episode where Steven attempts to Redeem Jasper, maybe even gets Lapis to apologize for trying to lock Jasper underwater for all of eternity... and then Jasper isn't overcome by the power of friendship/love/etc and storms off to smash things. Because I think one episode is too little time for a Jasper Redemption Arc, and while I love Steven's optimism and willingness to see the best in people who aren't Kevin, he does need to learn (a) sometimes it's not appropriate to meddle and (b) love doesn't fix everything, and (c) there's no fixing people who don't want to be fixed.
i think it was less that they didn't realize it was hair and more it just wasn't a sure thing without confirmation, a silly theory, and things like the fry hat accessory in the game kinda threw people for a loop (or, it did me anyways).
@Deresto Ooh that makes more sense. I can't say I would have been surprised if it was part of his hat! He takes it off and his hair is the same shape underneath. XD (Now I'm just being silly.) Shifting gears, I forget why this occurred to me, but I hc Peedee as trans. I think I might rewatch the show and I'll try to remember what sparked that.

Spoiler: today's ep i like today's ep more than i liked yesterday's. like, i don't consider it a fave - there was too much food for that - but it was good. and i like that it was about being able to say no, about how people shouldn't sacrifice themselves for other people.
Spoiler Yes! "she cares about you, she wouldn't want you feeling this way! your feelings do matter!" that's a good Power Of Love ideal for Steven to be pushing
Spoiler: kiki's pizza delivery service That was a good one! I love the message a lot--I'm really bad at sticking up for myself sometimes, so I found Kiki super relatable in that regard. And I thought it was sweet that she and Jenny did end up talking it out and coming to an understanding.
Spoiler: kiki's delivery service Nice shoutout to EVA there. Also I'm so happy that a) Kiki was encouraged to stand up for herself with Steven wearing himself down as a basis for her to bounce off of and b) Jenny was perfectly okay with it after they'd talked it out. No fight, no freakout, just 'yeah I guess I was eating up all her me time!' I love this show so much.
everyone is just so kind and it makes me feel so happy. even when they mess up sometimes or hurt each other, at the end of the day, the people in this show want to be kind and loving to each other. it's so good.
hey, for once this week Steven's "helping" didn't ruin everything! but no seriously, what a great episode. I think Kiki's my new favorite teenaged Beach City resident (Vidalia is just too cool to not be my favorite)
Mostly I'm just amused that Roommate M's boyfriend got the Kiki's Delivery Service joke like two days before this episode title pretty much spelled it out. :::PPP
