Given culture I was raised in, referring to someone by shortform name (Gess, Ford, Ref, etc.) or with second-person pronouns indicates a certain... eh... emotional closeness? intimacy? Can also be used to indicate dismissiveness and/or possessiveness of someone who has not yet agreed to such a bond.

If "Ford" is preferred name and "Stanford" erroneously picked up, will of course use "Ford", but... personally uncomfortable using shortform for someone currently only known in passing.

Mmmh, sort of? Sparkbonded concept closely matches conjunx, amica/moirail more closely aligns to crewmate but crew also includes adopted sparklings (and older-raised, assuming they choose to stay).

...crew does not have owner? Not as I'm familiar with the concept, anyway. Stanford-and-Valiska-and-moirails-and-sparklings are parts of the crew, or are crewmates, but... is not "Valiska's crew" or "Stanford's crew" or whatever. "Throttle+6", "Refractor+4", and other like descriptors are referential, given-name would vary depending on who is present and being spoken to. "Throttle+6" is "Half Life+6" is... others-who-haven't-given-names-here+6. Keeps from giving names allies might not want known under varying circumstances.
