*puts mew two down for the new kitty socializing* Also will need to look into changable coverings for kitties.
I will pet all the robot kitties. Because kitties. They should have little robokitty sweaters. @sicknastyspades yeah, that counts as a warm up.
@sicknastyspades the site is use for the coffe thing in my Sig does not put your real name on it, you can put whatever you like
I know this seems strange but maybe working on a kintsugi rpg for fun It will be simple, mostly just talking to people. Can someone send me all the quotes about landscape? Also!! Will need character sprites. I really am bad at sprites.
@Void - I can send you what I've got, d'you want it in PM or email or ...? EDIT: I'd also be happy to help with scripts when I can :D
so i messaged @Void and the topic of how the fuck does the city work came up. here's what i've been using so far in WTK land/making up as I go along: if we assume one main dome, with the main 'city' in the centre, then to the east are fields and beyond that, open land (where there are archaeological digs and such before it is terraformed). the radio station is on the eastern edge of the city. i think south of the fields is where the orchards are. there are subdivisions of the city - Kay lives in Somëta, which is the northwestern quadrant of the city, and which houses the city administrative buildings (including the forum for imported drama discussion and the top-secret unplottable safe house) and the colony council building (it's based off "That's So Meta" :P). there is a central plaza smack dab in the middle; the library is on the northern side of the plaza. there are the LARPing Boroughs in the northeastern quadrant (complete with open fields, an atrium of forest, and other recreational things like maybe pools?), and the new Fandom Subdivision (with several art galleries, poetry clubs, thrift shops/tailors, and vegan cafés) is east of that still. The Bloom Tea Shop is, I think, on the southern edge of the plaza. the southwestern quadrant is another quiet neighbourhood (haven't named it yet), but it has a 'safe' building where people needing advice/quiet time/stress relief can go (this one's based on the advice half of the forums). the southeastern quadrant is the general residential area, where most people live unless they have jobs in other bits of the city. it's very vibrant and has lots of character houses. most people built their own living space with the help of the robots. thoughts? complaints? additions?
re robot kitties: how about knitted 'skins' for them? i will absolutely knit cat covers. re city: since the place is small enough for walking most everywhere, i propose that the streets are grass. and there can be wandering sheep to help keep it mowed.
Hmm. I like the idea of a half-sunk ancient city into one of the crater walls, and about 1/3rd of Kintsugi is built in weird archaic technoruins. I did a piece back here on the general local geography that might give you some ideas.
and also i can shear the sheep and make yarn for my knittings. plus sheep are adorbs. also alpacas. gotta have some of those, and maybe a few goats. edit: oh yeah and sheep milk makes EXCELLENT cheese.
ah thanks for tracking that down, Snitch - I remembered there was something but couldn't find it. (i think I missed sticking it in my notes document which would be why.) okay, given that, here's some ideas to integrate the two: we've bubbled the ancient ruins and most (?) of the crater, with pressurized tunnels (?) to get to the fields/orchards, which are to the east of the crater. the ancient city is in the southwestern edge of the crater. administrative buildings and colony council, having been set up early in the colony's development, are quite deep in the ancient city (we've also repurposed what looks like an amphitheatre for Drama, and there is a convenient bunker for secret discussions). the central plaza is part of the ancient city, but it is not central to the ancient city: the library is an ancient building, but Bloom Tea Shop is new, and we have started terraforming the LARPing boroughs and recreational areas to the east, as well as breaking ground on the new art galleries and such in the new fandom subdivision. that being said, the residential buildings, which have been added onto/repurposed as needed, form the southern half of the city. hang on lemme sketch a thing (woo Paint) north is up edit to add: lol this means the radio station is on the south-eastern edge of the ancient city. i have managed to pick a house at the complete opposite end of town XD double edit all the way across the sky: we can also easily say less of the town is ancient. i'm realizing now that i'm mis-reading everything today - somehow i read 2/3 of the city is ancient rather than 1/3. >_< gah
Also I do not have spacey map assets atm so when I can get some I will fix it. For now kintsugi map has placeholder fantasy style stuff lmao
There will also be options to walk through the city/outside to where you wanna go, or to take "tunnels" to shortcut to where you wanna go
Ooh, interesting! I like it. The communications & surveillance building is presumably in the Someta area and I'm fairly certain Mirrors just lives in it. Even if they weren't actually supposed to. They just slowly started importing their belongings.
Also!! Any illustrations you feel comfortable or would like to see used please pm them to me so I can gather them! Things that would be fun are maps, drawings, scribbled handwritten notes, stuff like that! Also if you have things like poems, stories, or notes you would like to see in places like the library, please pm them to me as well! Gonna need lots of stuff so there is always lots of things to find and enjoy. :3
