space loser giant kitty committee (voltron)

I am only up to the third episode, and I really love the new Voltron! I love all the characters except Lance, who is kind of annoying. (He needs to be punched. So far he has not been punched enough. Does he get punched more in future episodes? Because I am totally here to see Lance get punched.) Shiro is possibly my favorite, followed by Keith, Pidge and Hunk. (Allura is in a category by herself.) I really love the character designs/new interpretations of the characters.

(It kind of makes me nostalgic for the Voltron I saw when I was a kid. Though I did not get to see many of those episodes because the station Voltron was on had very bad transmission, so you'd only see bits of each episode and then a lot of static. For some reason the station would be fine if Gumby or Betty Boop was on, but not Voltron.)

 

Huh, I wonder if that's malfuctioning or only sort of half way working early parental blocking controls? Because that's what old cable blocking used to be is just scrambling the signal for that channel, but a lot of times you could still sort of make out the stuff going on. Shit was hilariously ineffective.

 

This was before "parental blocking controls" it was the early eighties. And we didn't have cable at the time.

 

That's weird then! I figured it might be something like Betty Boop and Gumby being considered wholesome (lol) but Voltron is like too violent or something. Maybe it was whoever was running the old broadcast station :O

 

I finished episode 11 so far and who said it was okay to hurt my fictional wife like this.

That episode destroyed me; it has been like 5 days and I am still not entirely okay.

 

Fun fact: When I watched that episode my first thought was 'so is the princess gonna get Winter Soldier'd?'

I ship Pidge/Shiro. But not as an active ship. More like Pidge has developed this MASSIVE and COMPLETELY EMBARRASSING crush on the team leader and is so pissed off about it. Body why. Brain why. Teenage hormones, why.

Shiro is a hot mess at the same time that he's just hot, and Pidge spends a lot more time than wanted thinking about climbing that like a fucking jungle gym then immediately internally screaming into the void about it.

 

I am up to episode five now! I still think Lance needs to be punched, but somewhat less than before. This is progress! I still refuse to accept the Keith/Lance ship, even as pitch.

I think I like "polydins" though! I like "polydins" even though Pidge is a smol bebe. I think I ship Shiro/Allura. (And I want to see a fic where it's assumed that the Paladins are Allura's spouses. Because that would be hilarious. And possibly also cute.)

Poor Shay! They better rescue her, I'm just saying. Either that or she rescues herself and starts a revolution. And then she and Hunk date.

They need secure communication channels and also "emergency release" catches for the lion bay doors. Just saying. Things would have gone much smoother if the Galra hadn't been able to listen in. And they'd been able to get to the lions.

The Galra commander guy needs to be kicked in the junk. Several times. Poor Shiro. Shiro needs hugs.

Neither Pidge nor the Paladins are thinking clearly, re: the situation where Pidge wants to run off to find their dad and brother. It's pretty obvious that while Pidge is awesome, it would be better to not try navigating the ins and outs of an alien empire alone. They would need the entire team to help them. /babble

 

(I mean the arm thing would also put an interesting spin on the thing in episode 9)
