Catching all 151, er, 368, er ... a lot: The Pokemon Infodump Party!

haaaaaaaaaaaaaa shit the Texas Roadhouse near work is a Pokestop. I remembered that I had a gift card that had enough to buy me dinner on it and threw down a lure and ate steak and got loot/XP and caught another Bulbasaur and some other assorted stuff.

 

Heh. Got the latest patch. Apparently their solution to the Three Step Glitch was to...completely remove the rangefinder. :/

 

I'm not happy about this.

 

I have to assume (please, Niantic?) that they'll put it back in once they fix the issues... But yeah, no help in this patch for the "where the @$&# is the $&&#ing Abra???" problem.

 

I do like that you don't have to scroll all the way down to transfer all those fucking Pidgeys anymore

I caught a Tangela at the park with the lake, and named it EarbudCord.

Also I ...may have had my first encounter with a GPS-spoofing cheater? One of the gyms at same park is a memorial bench in a pretty wide-open space. If there's someone else close enough to challenge it, you're going to see them. There was nobody there, and there was only one defender in the gym, so I beat it up. Before I could get my own pokemon in, BOOM, some red guy named Cocacola[some numbers] stuck a Slowbro in it. Okay, that's weird but whatever, I have heals, I can evict him. I beat up his Slowbro, go to put my Pokemon in, and--there he is again, with a Gyarados this time. WTF? Beat up the Gyarados. Went to put my Pokemon in the gym and son of a bitch, IT'S RED AGAIN, same guy, the Slowbro is back.

The whole time, there is nobody else within challenging range of this fucking gym. The only people nearby are walkers on the track who aren't looking at their phones.

I heal up and beat up the Slowbro again. I guess he gave up or got bored at that point, because I finally got my defender in and grabbed my free coins and shit.

The bright side: this dude's shenanigans got me a medal.

 

Has anyone else had a lot of issues actually capturing mons since the update? Even low level commons like pidgey are consistently escaping the ball at least twice before I catch them, its weird.

 

@Hobo havent gotten a chance to see for myself, but i have heard of some other people having the same issue so its not just you

 

I... actually seem to be having an easier time catching them for the most part, even tougher ones.

 

@Hobo ive noticed it as well. but also i have leveled up a lot recently, so it may be a response to that instead? idk.

also side note, i love my tangela. solar beam is fucking awesome. i just wish i had tangela candies so i could power it up (currently its abt 700cp)

 

@Hobo - I've also noticed that... I think. I've also had a harder time actually throwing the balls and having them connect, I'm pretty sure.
