Spoiler: gem hunt cute episode the gems jasper collected were another jasper and watermelon tourmaline, i think connie talking about peak oil and all that made me feel anxious or something it's weird how connie seems to almost take joy in how scary that stuff is, in being scared for earth's future
Spoiler: gem hunt jasper in this episode felt different to me than she did in alone in at sea. and i wonder how she could've got from beach city to the great north. with the teleportation pads, i guess, but...
Spoiler: Re, Connie Connie likes being important, i think. If stuff is teetering on the brink of collapse, then that's big and dramatic and knowing about it and preparing for ir makes her important, no matter how lonely she gets. I did the same kinda stuff when i was a smeet.

Spoiler: Gem Hunt ...when I saw the brown monster, the first thing that popped into my head was "Picture Jasper" but I DIDN'T THINK THE GENUINE ARTICLE WAS GONNA SHOW UP It seems like a bit of a coincidence for Jasper to happen to be in two wildly different places where Steven was in two consecutive episodes. I'm honestly starting to incline a little more toward that "Lapis was projecting" theory. That, or she's looking to feed her new drive and is going to try to fuse with these monsters. That ain't gonna end well, if so. Also Pearl is so adorkable and I love her.
Spoiler yeah, that does make sense. it's just really agitating for me, that's all. i'd probably have been able to handle her then if she wasn't talking about real world problems. like, her talking about Gem problems doesn't set me off, but her talking about real world problems does.
Spoiler: gem hunt spoilers well. i think this is supporting my 'jasper does some UNLIMITED POWERRRR trip thing'. my guess is she's gathering corrupted gems to force a fusion with and is going to become some really powerful gem monster. not sure about redemption possibility... maybe after she's defeated and unfuses she'll see the error of her ways? who knows.
Spoiler: Minor detail I think they were both corrupted jaspers- one red and one ocean jasper. We've seen that gems of the same type have the same corrupted forms, so it cant be watermelon tourmaline .... Oh yeah, almost definitely ocean jasper. Dang, i didnt think it actually came this bright and the show was exaggerating it.
Spoiler: moar Gem Hunt Well, shit. Looks like Jasper's trying to get her fusion fix in a more Homeworld-approved way?
Spoiler so, i guess this means that if jasper is gonna try to fuse with them, she won't be breaking the Homeworld taboo against different-Gem fusion. she'll be keeping to Homeworld's rules even as she's breaking out of them.
Spoiler: gem hunt spoilers yeah i'm.. wondering about this. maybe she's trying to construct something especially powerful and seeking out gems that are powerful? she knows how strong she is. i wouldn't be surprised if a corrupted version of lapis lazuli shows up, maybe?
oh man oh god oh man oh god Spoiler: Gem Hunt Maybe Jasper being able to get so far north after Alone at Sea is due to some ability, innate or technological, to sense/find other Jaspers. I'm certain she's going to use those Jaspers to fuse with, and that's going to be a disaster. It's interesting that the monster!Jaspers were scared of her. D:

Spoiler: gem hunt CONNIE'S FIRST MISSION with parental approval, no less. that's sweet. I missed Connie also I love her "mmmm it's... it's bad" SAME STEVEN JASPER She's still calling Steven 'Rose'. I wonder how much of this is 'addiction to fusing' and how much of this is 'I want to be powerful enough to fight my demons'. Lapis might be one road to that, but nonconsensual monster fusing is probably another. Is that possible? From what we know, you have to agree to fuse, outside of the cluster and gem shards, and is Jasper fucked in the head enough to try shattering and fusing herself and the other gems?
