An animal is nothing like a dildo. That's an inanimate object. It does not fight you if you want it to do something that it doesn't want to do. It does not experience pain. It does not care what you do to it.

Animals want very much to stay alive. That's why hunting is hard, unless you're the kind of asshole who shoots them with a sniper rifle out of a helicopter. You have to chase them down and kill them and they don't just let you do that. People who hunt for a living make really good money because it is hard work and it is messy work. Even a predator like myself doesn't necessarily enjoy the painful parts. I am biologically driven to enjoy killing things and eating them, but I'm not sadistic because I'm sapient and I have empathy.

If an animal in its mating season walks up to you and presents itself to you to be mounted I really don't care whether you accept that invitation or not, so long as it's of compatible size and you don't hurt it. When I'm in my mating season, I still know who I want--I just want him even more than usual, and with a greater sense of urgency. I would think that would be counterproductive, since there are only a couple of ways to end the mating season--getting pregnant, which isn't always easy across species, or at the very least convincing the body that the necessary deeds have been done.

But I think what you are missing in this discussion of bestiality is that generally animals do not want to have sex with beings outside of their species because they don't see the point of it. Mating bonds that develop across species generally require either very similar species or sapient beings with an emotional and intellectual connection. (For that matter, in animals with an estrus cycle, only the sapient ones are interested in sex when they're not in season.)

And if you try to do something to an animal that it does not want you to do, you will have to use force. Quite a bit of it, in the case of an animal large enough to accommodate you. (Smaller animals may die of the injuries inflicted, which is sadistic and abusive and horrid and there's really something wrong with a person who can enjoy causing that much damage and pain in a sexual context.) Animals do not have sapient intellect but they are canny, they are creative, they are physically powerful, they have teeth and claws, and they are not inanimate objects. You're going to have to fight and overpower the animal. There are problems with consent in the case of a willing animal due to the lack of sapience, but there can be no doubt that an animal that is fighting you doesn't consent to whatever you're doing.

And here's the rub. If you can enjoy taking sexual pleasure from an unwilling animal by force, you may not be raping people, but you're still the sort of person who gets off on force and pain, which makes you not someone I want my kids to be hanging out with.
