ngl i kind of figure who is going to stick around or come back for extended periods solely based on voice actors.. like, there's no way we'll get more than maybe another few lines out of any of the fusions except stevonnie, and i don't think bismuth will really come back for long either if ever just because i assume uzo aduba won't really have the time to voice the character for a long period of episodes. :P

Something I find interesting/ironic is that while the Breaking Point probably wouldn't have been that effective a weapon during the war, shattering would actually be incredibly threatening to Homeworld now, when they're rapidly running out of resources and need every gem they can get. So threatening, in fact, that it would be incredibly tactically inadvisable because they would crush you.

It occurs to me that there's fantastic fanfic potential in "AU where Bismuth isn't quite so quick to show her awesome new weapon to Rose Mk. II." She's obviously in the mindset that the war is still on, since from her perspective it was only a few hours ago. Judging from the fact that Centipeedle didn't know what they were running from, the Crystal Gems probably had no idea about the corruption nuke until it went off either, and Bismuth probably wouldn't really get it until she saw the results. It would also be really interesting to see her coming to terms with the fact that while Rose's rebellion didn't liberate all the gems and most of the CGs were corrupted or shattered and fused into the Cluster, they didn't exactly lose- the Earth is still there (given people's reactions to seeing the plans Peri pulled up on the moon base, I don't think they knew the full extent of what was planned for Earth) and there's an entire civilization of weird pink monkeys that wouldn't have survived without them. Would all the horrible stuff Homeworld was doing that they didn't even know about make her angrier, or would seeing how many of Homeworld's civilians got hurt alongside the Crystal Gems make her start developing more empathy for them? How long would it take her to really get that the conflict now is deeply and fundamentally different from the conflict then, and the tactics and playing field are totally different?

    Secret Squirrel certainly something

I think the Breaking Point was preferable to the ole poof'n'bubble because, if the aim was better, you wouldn't have to spend as much time fighting. Outfit an army with those and you'd be taking down a lot more enemies.

Also, wrt "is this the Bismuth that poofed Lapis", I don't see why she wouldn't be? Sure she's probably strong enough to shatter a lot of gems with a direct hit, but Lapis is probably the most powerful single non-Diamond gem we've seen so far. If anyone could survive, it would probably be her.

I love Bismuth, but she was upsetting to me early on. I don't think we've seen someone be so hateful of the gem elite rather than the elitism. To Bismuth, there seems to be gems that should be alive (the lower class) and gems that should die (the upper class). That goes pretty strongly against the spirit of Rose and Steven so far.

WHEN WILL GREG MEET/INTERACT WITH JASPER OR BISMUTH. THEY ARE BIG WOMEN, WHICH ARE HIS TYPE. I'M NOT SAYING THIS BECAUSE I WANT SHIPPING, WHAT I WANT IS TO SEE SOMEONE BE AS ATTRACTED TO THEM AS I AM.

Quoting myself to add: Pearl sort of fills that role, but it's just not the same if the character isn't a somewhat terrified human.

Seriously dude, your art. Your motherflippin grasp of muscles.

ACTUALLY! http://www.forums.caves.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=12648 I've only ever seen it done with stalagmites, but it would probably work with cave pearls too - same mineral.

    ADORABLE.

She also seemed to think that the Crystal Gems were going to launch an assault on Earth, which, well. For a variety of reasons wouldn't work. So how would she react to the stalemate?

i did some sketches of a cave pearl, i love the idea

i kinda imagine them to be very ethereal. i'm not very good at clothes but i wanted something really impractical that also conveyed they were a kept being, to go with the fairy queen white diamond thing that was discussed
    cave pearl sketch.png

and a corrupted cave pearl, can do sonic boom attack

    cave pearl corrupted sketck.png

i'm pretty happy with them even though they're only cleaned up sketches

....I just realized that this isn't the first time I've seen a weapon like the Breaking Point used, and it was impractical-looking there too.

Rein how is that meant to even be used.png
I don't even remember how it really worked in the movie, considering in the actual anime she just uses her fists. AFAIK the... piercy thing? gets used once, if anything. I think it was to add a little extra punch to an attack or break through shields or something?

I just can't believe that. Not with all the other recurring characters. Not with all the hype she had. Someday, they'll see her again...
