True but the hip-cutouts on the left one there are still pretty risqué

This one has tiny fangs and shrieks threateningly when there's intruders like the world's most useless little alarm.

I want this to be the actual trailer for the series.

I think it's more about what the Breaking Point represents than its actual effectiveness as a weapon. It's a massive step in the wrong direction. And how long until either Bismuth or Homeworld came up with a more effective design once it saw some use?

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who watched Steven vs Amethyst and thought of Kintsugi :p

"even if we don't agree, nobody deserves this" right in my tumblr sj feels

Well, I found copies of the canadian episode. Video quality is not great, but this is one of the better copies. It starts about two seconds into the intro.

OnnaStik Relatively nice for a bloodthirsty mercenary

the Breaking Point isn't necessary to shatter a gem, though. Amethyst nearly died from a bad fall. Execution is an available option with or without it, which is part of my grumbling about how its impracticality muddies the moral waters.

    Damn that cliffhanger!

I was thinking that a large part of the reason why Steven has surpassed Amethyst is that he's been training hard and trying to improve himself while she's been slacking the past couple years, if not longer. She's used to not having to work at fighting to be good and now she's got the whole "someone is better than me at Thing THEN WHAT GOOD AM I" problem going on. This isn't a healthy way to pick back up training tho :(

Lapis and Peridot are adorable in this

Personally, I'd love the see the diamonds redeemed or befriended. I just want to see how they could pull it off!

Well, don't real life diamonds shatter if you hit them in just the right spot? And yeah, I don't know if it's POSSIBLE, but it'd be cool if they could manage it!

Hard, but brittle. So breaking them would be a matter of picking the right angle, which... is a pretty decent metaphor for how badly they got blown off of Earth before resorting to the corruption weapons, actually.

Now featuring actual cliffhangers, surrounded by actual cliffs!!!

Amethyst is used to not having goals for herself, not training, and enjoying whatever garbage she likes. Steven's attempt at motivating her by telling her that her worth is in choosing who she wants to be was.... well, you tried kid.

I am a fan of getting more worldbuilding stuff and Homeworld techniques. Yes, thank you Peridot, please feel free to come by and be a cheerfully arrogant exposition provider on any missions, because goodness knows that Garnet and Pearl don't like to tell the shortie squad diddly squat.

I think I heard a bit of apocrypha about this once, about some diamond mining town way back when, where they'd gotten the memo that diamonds were the HARDEST THING GOING, but didn't grasp the difference between the geological usages of 'hard' and 'tough'. So their test to determine whether something was a ~real diamond~ or not was to stick it on the anvil and hit it with a hammer. Which, shockingly, did not fare very well!

Edit to include an explanation for the curious: https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-d...ughness-resilience-and-stiffness-of-materials. Material Sciences are pretty damn neat and if I wasn't kinda committed to this medicine thing, I'd love to give them a shot.

I sort of think the impracticality was part of the point. This isn't a weapon, it's a tool for efficient mass executions. Bismuth invented the gem version of a guillotine and it would probably have been used like one.

    ...Amethyst u ok?
oh boy it's Peridot and Lapis
    ngghhhh
I really hope they don't have those two being best of friends. If Peridot's going to suddenly get over herself they better fucking show that happening on screen.
    ....god fucking dammit.
    why is Lapis tolerating Peridot.
    Seriously
Last time they interacted Peridot had her head thoroughly stuck in the 'Oh yeah I guess you were mad at me for something but that really wasn't something that was bad and anyways I changed BE MY BEST FRIEND BE AROUND ME THINK I'M IMPORTANT AND GREAT hole.
    '...no' oh Lapis ILU.
Wait the Gems had art though. How do you have the concept of something being fancy without having the concept of art.
...so why were they doing this. I'm genuinely confused. I can't imagine why either of them would think this was worth startng to do. Did they see it on the show?
HOW DID THEY GET PLUMBING IN HERE
    ARGH.
Look. I like Lapis. I like Peridot. If they were able to become friends that'd be great.
But you can't go from them at a point where one of them should reasonably not want to be anywhere near the other, then jump to 'oh yeah they're BEST OF FRIENDS.' I get it's been a while, but you can't have that kind of important development happen offscreen! Imagine if we had had Cry For Help, then had, idk, a bunch of episodes about random Beach City shenanigans, then the next time we see them Pearl and Garnet are just normal friends. That would be bullshit.
    Oh, Amethyst...
Nice that Peridot's getting better with her metalbending
Wait Jasper's from Earth? And Rose was too?
...Peridot MAYBE SHE COULD USE AN APOLOGY FOR INTERROGATING HER THAT YOU DON'T IMMEDIATELY INVALIDATE.
    whoah this place looks cool.
    'licks rock'
Oh shit no WONDER Jasper's obsessed with Rose. She was made for beating Rose.
...Oh so. Jasper and Amethyst are both a bit faulty, then?
    ...or apparently not.
Wait would that mean Jasper is big for a Quartz? The other holes didn't look that size, but Peridot didn't mention size as one of the flaws...
Poor Peridot. I hope she gets new assistive tech soon.
    ...Or not.
    Uhoh.
No you can't describe yourself based on BEATING SOMEONE ELSE.
The Gems would've noticed if a Kindergarten was active, right?
    oh god
    oh GOD.
    oh noooo. Poor things...
    Amethyst no!
WOW THAT WAS AN ABRUPT SHIFT
And the title card changed too.
....Also now I get why it was going to be aired on Monday as a two-parter. Oh well.

    chaoticArbiter literally Eevee

I'm not sure Rose was made on Earth. in one episode, she tells Pearl "if we do this we can't ever go home" but in another it says she was made right there on Earth--and wouldn't she have therefore considered Earth her home? I feel like she lied to someone.

I think we're gonna see a steven-amethyst fusion - it took a fusion to escape jasper last time, and no one in the current party is tall strong enough in combat to hold her off single-handedly.
