and now i'm wondering how a pearl's owner or homeworld society would handle one with that kind of personality, since angry chihuahuaness doesn't sound like something that someone/homeworld society would want out of a decorative slave.

true, but no one's ever had to worry about a chihuahua rebellion, about chihuahuas being like, "we're oppressed and we're gonna fight to end this oppression."

 

(I've pointed out before that from Homeworld's perspective, Pearl is essentially Big Fido from Men at Arms.)

 

I imagine at least one person might find it amusing. Like, of course the grunts can't touch a higher up's personal Pearl, not even if she is currently latched onto their arm with her teeth sunk into their jugular. Imagine a General strictly enforcing military discipline while her Pearl nearabout poofs a buncha quartzes.

 

i don't really get the reference, but based on what i've seen on the wiki: a talking dog raving about revolution?

IIRC, a terrifyingly bloodthirsty tiny purse-dog who escaped and started a revolutionary dog gang?

 

He can't talk, actually. It's just that the MCs who interact with him are bilingual in Dog and Human. The summary I would have given is "tiny fluffy toy poodle who savaged his owners, ran away, started a dog gang, raves about revolution, and can and has straight-up murdered dogs many times his size."

 

Yeah feels like a thing some people might find amusing, especially if the pearl is the sweetest most well behaved little darling in her owner's arms.

-sigh- Am I seriously the only one who thinks giving gems human genitalia is kind of lazy? (Sorry, this is an old pet peeve of mine, I don't mean it to you but I'm very tired of only ever seeing this kind of art.) And tagging for shall we say, non-con would have been nice. (Seriously there's no mention of it in your post OR in the fic notes beforehand, but the very first scene is definitely rape.
