Did she witness it, was she not able to stop it in time? Did she lose a firm place in Gem society once she was a diamondless gem? There is some MAJOR baggage she's carrying around.

Spoiler: beta/earthlings I'm glad I waited to watch Beta until tonight. Oh man Amethyst, and I'm really glad that Steven had a chance to get through to her. I like trash!Amethyst, grimly-determined!Amethyst was deeply worrying. On lots of levels. Also JASPER AUGH MY HEART boy she has just. Got so much shit to unpack. I wonder if her corruption is actually going to be the kicking off point for Steven figuring out all of the other gems' corruption and how to fix it. He's got an idea of what Jasper should be, versus what she's become, and got to see it working in action, not just slinging back like it did with Centipeedle.
Spoiler: Also!!!!! Am and Steven were able to fuse without a dance cause they were so in sync with each other and their feelings of being weird and defective and alienated. What does it say about Jas that she could fuse so effortlessly with a monster knawing at the bars of its cage?
Spoiler: beta/earthlings, also an old dollmaker thing TOTALLY CALLED THAT BATTLE YO-YO I mean I thought it'd be some kind of Pink Spinel or something but BATTLE YO-YO BATTLE YO-YO That poor Ocean Jasper. Is this the first time we've seen a genuinely forced fusion of active (albeit corrupted) Gems? also, it looks like "Rose is Pink Diamond" is losing ground to "Rose killed Pink Diamond" in terms of likelihood. That's gotta interact in some way with her refusal to do more shattering, to the point of bubbling Bismuth over it.
Spoiler: Also!!!!!! I like the confirmation that Fusion doesn't require concent, it just requires you be in sync. It's fucking hard to get on the same page as someone without a common goal, even if it's just to make up a dance. Tho, I guess that was confirmed with Garnet's first fusion, huh? Maybe I just like seeing a for real gods actual forced fusion with an unwilling party happening. Jeeze, did you see how Jas just closed her eyes and concentrated like she was trying so hard to feel all the hurt and fear and rage that Crazy Lace was feelng, but introducing the hope and desire to win just fuckin tanked it. Or that's how i read it. Gosh, fusion is fun.

Spoiler: earthlings I think honestly the shock would have made her pop back into Ruby and Sapphire, and they'd both be too grief stricken over the horror of it to do much aside from hurl reckless attacks at the start. Then the fury would kick in and the smols would kick jasper's ass and take some time to be super gay and appreciative of each other before reforming. Then hunt down the corrupted jasper and pet it
