I've been flying this flag since Hit the Diamond. I commissioned a pic of the Megarube/Jasp way back when. You guys don't know just how happy I'll be if Jasper/Rubies picks up any sorta steam.
A random thought occurs to me... If two gems with the same placement attempt to fuse, how does that end up looking on their resultant fusion...?
Saw some real good body horror fanart of split torsos and junk, so each gem had their own chest to center their gem on, but the crew confirmed via Twitter that their gems would just be beside each other.
If the Rubies stay Jasper can have the tiny army she always wanted! :3 ...maybe she can practice how to be a good leader who doesn't try to control and abuse her followers out of fear that they're all going to leave her.

Also more diamond information omg!! And it didn't seem like the 'Pearl = Pink Diamond's Pearl' theory was really shattered this episode? Maybe I missed something, or I'm not operating on quite the same theory, but it still seems pretty reasonable that Rose might've liberated her Pearl before/after?? shattering Pink Diamond.
Spoiler Well, by the 'a Pearl's placement matches her owner's I don't think it works, but I dunno if that's confirmed or not... Also I wonder if the Rubies might be colorblind or something?
Spoiler I mean it's unconfirmed but it seems like a Pearl's gem placement matches her owners, and also like a Pearl's colors match her owner's. Pearl is largely white, not pink, and her Gem is on her head, where PD's was on her stomach, apparently.

Spoiler They made such a fuckin deal about Eyeball, tho. She's smarter than the others, more focused, gruff little vet. gosh, and her crush is such a fucking thing, it's gotta be something, yeh?? And right on the heels of Jasp's whole "I'm alone and my diamond is dead and I have issues" shpeal.
Spoiler: running off the theory me and my friend made the other day what if the Gems are made of part of the Diamonds? think about it: we don't really know how Gems are made outside of that a crystal is inserted in the ground. what if they're imbued with just a little bit of a Diamond's power via those machines we saw in the Kindergartens, and that's how Gems have powers and things? and the Diamonds have similar, but much stronger powers? and the Diamonds, being pure...whatever they are, they have the capacity to hold a shape forever or something, but it comes at the cost of being a being with a physical body, rather than having a projection body like a true Gem. and the Gems are not pure...whatever the Diamonds are, but rather some sort of diluted form of that. a very, very diluted form of that. and that's why the Diamonds can't be poofed--they have physical forms that aren't projections, so they can only be killed via a direct hit, shattering their Gem.
Spoiler: editing this theory so we know now Pink Diamond was definitely shattered. not anything else, shattered. and we know this because one of the Rubies was there, and I'm not gonna discount an eyewitness testimony. so that throws out my 'Pink Diamond could've been healed from being shattered' idea. but something strikes me: Rose isn't the type to shatter without need. so why shatter Pink Diamond, rather than bubbling and poofing her? I stand behind my theory that it's because the Diamonds literally cannot be poofed. they can only be perma-killed via shattering. which suggests they aren't actually Gems, but rather something else.
Since I'm not super ridiculously late anymore (though I'm still 10 pages behind....) Spoiler: Earthlings Ahhhhhhhhhhhh I love Smokey Quartz!!! They're so cute!!!!! SO CUTE!!!! Ahhhhhh Pink Diamond things!!!!! ... yeah i don't have anything more coherent to say yet
Spoiler I thought one of the Rubies (Eyeball?) did notice that "Jasper" looked different from expected (ie., purple) & Amythest had to claim she got a tan thanks to Earth's stupid sun?
