Auto-personification plus unrelated dissociation skewing your results, perhaps? (I need to go back and look at the test, I can't remember it well enough to give you a more specific suggested explanation)

Gonna say: auto-personification, terrible short-term memory due to ADHD, plus maladaptive daydreaming = high score on internet test

Yes, as previously mentioned with other people's results, there are a wide variety of diverse experiences that can create false positives in this test. Context: It's Always Handy!

That sounds more like anxiety than dissociation, to me; Ursula Vernon talks about something similar.

(I think on her podcast; I can track that down and transcribe if it's relevant to anyone's interests.)

I don't think it's been discussed before, but then I have a terrible memory, so....shrug, who knows.
in any case! keeping in mind that this is just my experience and it's likely to be different for everyone, I have pretty decent control in regards to co-fronting, but none in regards to alters fronting on their own. typically, when alters are fronting sans me, it means that I'm going through some major-league stress or upset, and basically just shut down, and someone else has to take over who's less freaked out/shut down. as for co-fronting: it's basically a decision to step back and watch while someone else takes control, and it gives a very odd feeling of watching my body do things without me wanting it to or giving it permission to, but if anything bad starts to happen, I am very capable of shoving whoever's in control out of the way and taking control back. it's actually very tough for me to relinquish control, even with co-fronting. with that said, while it's not exactly easy to change who's fronting, if we do it right, it only takes a few minutes to change who's out, and if I'm distressed and shut down and stop fronting altogether it's an even quicker switch. so changes happen fairly rapidly, yes!
(it's not intrusive at all! it's a perfectly okay question ^.^)

Do you have any idea why your alters haven't been posting stuff lately?
(Also, one question that I hope isn't offensive to the people I'm referring to: I noticed there's a lot more fictives/factives now than there were before. People like Yang, who went from taking her name from RWBY to being a RWBY fictive... is that common? I noticed it happened a few months ago)

well, that would be because I've been more distant from them lately due to being more dissociated. my therapist says this is actually quite common a backstep; we're working to get better communication/co-fronting going again, but it's....difficult.
as for that--we learned that any alter who takes attributes of a character is actually a fictive of that character, and those who take attributes from real people are factives, according to the multiplicity Tumblr we've been following, who I quite trust on the matter--so anyone who takes their name and appearance and at least some of their personality from a character, like some of them do, is a fictive or factive.

so one of my friends who's In The Know about the system has decided that, since my thing is being an Eevee, they're gonna call the system as a whole The Eevee Collective
and they have decided we are all Made of Friendship
and tbh I think it's adorable

so today I learned that there's been a fictive dormant for a very long while who formed when I was ten and you will never guess who it is and I hate my younger self for being into this show
it's Musa from Winx Club and I'm
    why
    god why
I mean I knew that I had a fantasy bent as a kid too, it's gotten worse as I got older, but I didn't think that meant I'd have fictives from when I was a kid and
    I don't want her here
    why this
    cries

    uhhhhhhhhhh
    hhhhhhhhhey
    i'm ray.
    ray narvaez jr.
from the same world as vav--uh, gavin.
in the same factive??/fictive?? situation as him.
roughly the same age as him, both in terms of 'how long i've been here in this system' and 'how old i actually am'.
thought it was, uh, maybe time to introduce myself.
cedar's connection with us has been getting better again and i've been cofronting all day, but i finally decided it was time to try and meet people here, so i've taken charge of the body for a bit while cedar kind of copilots.
    maybe.
i might leave immediately after posting this, i dunno yet.

(Reference to something Cedar and folks and me were talking about about half an hour ago, I assumed you would've been in on the joke if you were cofronting, but oh well, sorry aha)

And hi! Welcome to Kintsugi, I guess?

ah. well...i kind of use the term 'cofronting' a bit loosely, unlike the others. when i say 'cofronting' i mean i was mentally in fronting space, but...not actually paying any attention to what was happening and just kind of doing my own thing and occasionally mentioning something to cedar. sorry, dude, didn't mean to confuse you or anything. i just...am not as strict about word meanings as the others can be.
thanks, i guess? it seems like an interesting place. i think. i don't really know. this is my first time here.

No worries at all. And I hope you like it here.

Also, re: confronting; is it a relaxing thing, to be able to be "present" but not have to worry about paying attention to what the body is doing? Sounds like being able to step back like that might be a good way to get some rest, although I'm not sure of exactly what the experience is like for you guys :o

so, uh....where do i go to meet other people? no offense to you, or this thread, but i didn't exactly choose to front just so i could talk in one thread and meet one person, even if that person seems cool.

Oh, well, there's lots of other forums.

I... suppose you could make an introduction thread in the Howdy There forum? Although I think generally Cedar's been hosting the "alter chats" with some of the other alters in this thread, but idk what the logistics are meant to be or anything.
