idk Steven, she looks like she's having a pretty good time to me.

(I want an AU where corrupted gems are treated the same as any other wierd, rare, sorta-dangerous wildlife by humans.)

Also, I'm still wondering if the CGs just didn't think to poof Roadrunner through the bars with Pearl's laser bolts, or if Garnet deliberately didn't do that because she foresaw that the outcome if they did would be much less funny.

Less funny, and Peridot would have missed out on all that character development!

EXCELLENT theory, for the most part. (In the OP; I really don't buy the second post's idea about the source of the corruption.) They absolutely would homage Sailor Moon in that way, too. I don't necessarily think "never meant to" is accurate, but that it wasn't what she originally set out to do seems likely...

It's worth noting that Bubbled gave us added confirmation of what Bismuth implied when replacing Amethyst's weapon-- "Not every Amethyst can handle a whip like this one!"-- in that same-type gems don't necessarily have the same weapons. This, added to the fact that Bismuth can apparently modify/replace "personal weapons", means a few things:

    - Rose's use of a shield as her gem weapon was likely a personal choice (or maybe just a matter of compatibility)
    - Peridot/ Lapis's lack of a weapon isn't necessarily inherent, and they may have just never gotten one.

Well I think every Gem has a personal weapon, that they make, that is Theirs, unique to them, inherent, though similar types often appear in a caste. And this is Lapis' hydrokinesis and Rose's shield and Ruby's glove and Ruby's knife. And then there's material weapons, which can a) modify Gem weapons and b) just be a plain new weapon. So Lapis inherently has no weapon, but if she met Bismuth and things went ok Bismuth could make her one that would be hers, though she'd still only have the only and not be able to store it in her Gem, unless it was somehow a mod of her waterpowers.

I can't believe Rose got human biology so wrong that she made Steven able to photosynthesize.

If they're right about the interpretation of Eyeball's comment, that also means the rebellion can't have kicked off when Rose killed Pink Diamond. Because if she was using her sword during whatever happened, the rebellion had to have already been going on long enough for Bismuth to join, make a lot of weapons, and then make her masterwork.

I think the most obvious problem with Theory 2 is that if that was the end who painted the mural? Unless it's, like, a prophecy mural, which considering the triangle-haired gem in a downwards-pointing triangle descending into a mass of hands to one side is... less far-fetched than it could be.

The Sailor Moon theory I linked accounts for that, I think?
yeah, like I said I don't buy that one. But the theory does work with the thing where Rose's Sword is not for shattering...

Has it been said that Rose used her sword to shatter PD? (info question: I am shit at remembering stuff like this from eps)

I don't think the timeliness work for theory two,

Eyeball Ruby said she saw the shattering, and would have gotten caught in the corruption wave if that's how it went down. And when Captain Centipeedle tells her story, she pretty explicitly draws the three living diamonds as the culprit. Also some of the ruins have four diamond artwork but a lot of it also uses three diamond stuff.

So? If PD's death kicked off the rebellion, Rose wouldn't have had her sword then. Even if she did, she could have shattered her without it, just by hitting it with her shield the right way. And if Eyeball Ruby saw her multiple times - which, if she fought in the war, she could have - she could have also seen her use the sword then.

I was mostly asking if we had a clear accusation one way or the other, that's all.
