had a cool idea for a podcast on my way home. once i got home, though, depression started saying i'd do a shitty job, no one would be interested, i'd never get around to it, it's one more thing to add to my plate... sigh.

sure. I'm an opera singer, and I know a bunch of people in my local opera community. I think it'd be cool to do a chat-cast about opera - have people on to talk about characters, process, stories, productions. Give young artists like my peers a chance to talk about their ideas, do interviews with more seasoned veterans to get those perspectives, chat with composers/directors of contemporary operas. A time and place to talk shop and demystify the art form a bit. Could also become a resource for exploring how different singers approach roles (technique and character-wise), as well as an extra blurb to put on your webpage.

 

Realised how much Facebook was following me around the internet when I opened my ad preferences and saw one of the keywords for targeted advertising was 'psychiatric hospital'. I have done nothing on FB that would indicate that is relevant to me. I'm seriously about to delete this damn website from my life because that's creepy as hell.

 

@Kaylotta That sounds really cool! I don't really know anything about opera, but it sounds like it would have the same kind of appeal as, like, trade magazines - you know, providing interesting specialized information for a niche-ish community.

fucking PESTS

The good news is, where I live we rarely if ever see rodents indoors. The bad news is, bugs.

I get fruit flies. I get rid of the fruit flies and get roaches. I get rid of the roaches and get fucking ANTS. Their trail is short so I pick up the whole goddamn conga line with a length of duct tape, caulk up the hole they came in from, and put out baits. The ants disappear. The roaches come back.

There was one glorious time when I got rid of all three. Then the bedbugs came. That is a battle I never want to have to fight again.

 

Buncha losers crowing that Gamergate "owned" Bogleech because they threw a bunch of words at him, despite the fact that they didn't change his mind, didn't even make him mad, and none of their arguments make sense.

I just get really aggravated when I see some dipstick claim victory over an argument when it was at best a tie. Plus Bogleech is cool and doesn't deserve this crap.

Friends who have been together for 16yrs are divorcing because wife isn't happy that husband isn't "successful" and doesn't want to go out partying--because he's spent the last nine years in freelance work coding so he can be a stay-at-home Dad for their kids. RRRRRRRGH. SO UNFAIR.

So it turns out I've picked a really bad time to finally read The Edge Chronicles, because I would like to acquire copies of the books but it turns out they've all got new covers now and are £7 each. :/ Which would be fine if it were easier to get ahold of old copies but it's proving harder than expected and I'm yelling. :(

 

I'm missing one volume in a series. One! And the trades appear to be currently out of print, so I have to hunt down a used copy or wait and hope they do another printing.
Irredeemable, why? I just want the whole series so I can watch the world burn and fawn over my dumb hair favorite D:

 

customer, your allegedly "camera ready" artwork is bad and you should feel bad. also: five logos and a wall of text on a plaque with a 5x7 plate on it? please get in the sea and get brushed up against by something harmless but unidentifiable at your earliest convenience.

@ my emotions: stop, OK? We already discussed all of the many, many rational reasons that it's dumb to feel this way. Like a year and a half ago, and repeatedly since then. Just stop.

 

The one day I have spoons for and want drive-thru is naturally the one day they lost power :c

 

I want to talk about Kaladin in Words of Radiance and mental illness but I don't know enough people who have read the Stormlight books. ;_;
