It looks like there are Gem sites at:

1. Midwestern North America (the Alpha Kindergarten?)
2. Western NA, somewhere around Nevada
   
3. off the coast of Newfoundland
4. around Bermuda and Puerto Rica (two of the points of the Bermuda Triangle in our world)
   
5. on the eastern edge of the Caribbean
6. in northern Africa, around Egypt
7. in Spain
8. in eastern Europe, somewhere around the Czech Republic
   
9. in western Russia, around the St. Petersburg area
10. two in Scandinavia, one of which is the strawberry battlefield/ziggurat
11. one in the giant hole in Russia
12. one in the Himalayas, which isn't shown here

...Plus the Beta Kindergarten (which the Gems didn't know about) and the Sand Castle (which I assume is the Desert Glass, and from where Amethyst pointed is in the Sahara).

My completely wild guesses are that the other x in Scandinavia is Blue Diamond's palanquin, the one in Egypt is the Communication Hub, and the Sky Spire is the one in the Himalayas.

 

The map is the same as the one in the moon base, if you want a full picture, though it only shows one more

Also- im pretty sure it was just Amethyst who didnt know about the beta kindergarten, since the maps are the same. I would asume its the mark around Arizona, considering the red sandstone.

 

The south american one is only on the Diamond map. Secret base?

 

Or it was destroyed so thoroughly that she thought it was safe for a squishy human.

 

I just realised something amazing about Smoky Quartz.

So their New Fusion Thing is the super flexible yoyo, right? 'cause Steven and Amethyst are both super adaptable.

What kind of comedy does Smoky Quartz do? Improv.

 

So, does anyone know if SU Tumblr fandom has settled on a pronoun for SQ?

Asking because a friend of mine PM'd me recently because she was terrified she'd slip and use "she" instead of "they" and get attacked. But I can't tell if this is a rational fear (because SU fandom is pretty awful) or her OCD, or both, which makes it hard to provide reassurance or advice.

(I feel like you could easily make the case for either she or they, but I also can't see SQ being fussy about it. I mean, Smoky Quartz is Steven + Amethyst. IMO they're most likely to say "Just don't call me late for dinner!")

 

i'm thinking probably "they," since stevonnie, which is also a fusion of two differently-gendered people, uses "they." like, that's what i'd have expected them to settle on.

Spoiler: Interesting maps- buddys book spoliers

So the south america one is obvious- thinking about it more, i wanna guess that it's the sky arena, since there would be no way for a human to get up there at that point it time. That, or as someone mentioned, the crystal gems might not have known about it. My second guess would be the ships from Friend Ship and Monster Reunion. Although im not sure why they would be marked on the moon map, it may be that the ones there are simply warp pad markers, in which case it would make more sense.
But, on buddys map there's also an extra one, which i marked. Bc its not on the moon map, im thinking that this is there blue diamonds platform is. Unless the platform was left near a significant monument/a warp pad, there would be no reason to mark it on the moon map.
Finally, there's one on both maps that's to the south east of the pair of marks in scandanavia, but its marked very differently- on one map its above the trio of lakes, and in the other it's below. Some of the other marks dont match perfectly to the moon map either, but that one seemed the most different, and thus worth mentioning.

Do we know that it's BLUE Diamond's palanquin, though? I know it looks similar to the one shown in The Answer, and it was cool-toned when shown in this episode, so that's what we're supposed to assume, but....

 

That trio of lakes is actually the Baltic Sea. :)

 

Huh, could we compare this map to the one that showed up in Friend Ship? The globe one?

Also, a job for someone who wants to go back and rewatch some eps(probably me tbh, ive been meaning to go back and rewatch all of them)- should write down all the different sectors mentioned and see if any match up to each other or probably locations. Ik peridot mentions sectors for both kindergartens and the location of the cluster, and one of the Rubies mentions a couple, like where pink diamond was shattered and where she was at the time. Not sure if any others though.

Some of that could also be that Pearl was marking them in a hurry, by hand, without a hard surface to back it. Though I guess if anyone was going to be highly precise while doing that it'd be Pearl. :::PPP

I'd put the one near the Baltic Sea as the Palanquin/Blue Diamond's court. Because her court would have been a major landmark, and we know her palanquin physically skittered away from where it was.

 

Huh. So I don't think the Friend Ship ships were on either map then.

 

I wouldn't guess so, since there were probably a lot of random colony ships, and they probably weren't meant to be permanent structures (since, you know, it's a starship- they're kinda built to move).
