A lot of people who grow up being told how good they are at things end up feeling like anything less than perfection is a failure, yeah. And in a lot of cases from there it goes "everyone says I can do anything if I try because I'm talented -> I tried and couldn't do it -> therefore I'm not actually talented -> I'm worthless because that talent is what everyone's defined my value based on." Which is basically what we see with Jasper.
