I finally went back to watching TFP and. All the continuity differences make me scream but lookit Starscream's booty lookit the jet son outflying silly humans ...honestly, look at all the pelvic girdles, someone on the animation team has as much a boner for robots as the fandom.
But... tfp is supposed to be running on the rails of a different continuity then idw? (The fabled kind of aligned contiuity but sort of not because the writers wanted more freedom). Wellll, as for sexiness Tfp was the show that finally revealed that the cybertronians possibly have their own word for sex :D The show also has another sexy robot who spends 1/3 of his screen time flirting with all the other boys.
I am very aware of this, it just throws me for a loop every time something is subtly off :P I'm only like five episodes in, I'll get used to it I'm sure.

Ooooooooh, my SOTW paperback is here! And it has commentary on the development of the series! I haven't read hardly anything yet, but check out the series themes they discussed in their initial pitch (also there's art of a group shot of the wreckers we've heard about, including one honking big dude I don't recognize who stands head and shoulders above even Roadbuster. But the IMPORTANT thing is that Rotorstorm is in there! My asshole husband #827! I'm so happy :') ) edit: ohhhh guys, this is Good Shit. I'm going to have to maybe type this up, because photographing these pages without killing the book spines is tough, but I HAVE to share. Things I am upset we never received: A Spotlight: Rumble issue, where Rumble goes on a hardcore pub crawl and Stakeout tails him. Also cut Stakeout dialogue about his and Verity's history together (including a thing about a potential Insecticon outbreak in Borneo, which cracks me up, given tgwp). And check out the Jesus imagery with Springer's resurrection at the end of issue 1, with the abandoned "tomb" and the silhouetted telephone poles on the very last page.
One more picture! There are two tiny text boxes within the text, and this is the second. I mmmmay be able to photograph the full pages tomorrow, if the light is decent, but i doubt these two will be very readable, unless I'm very lucky. I am... a little confused on terminology, because the New Wreckers were cut, and we're... TOLD their names up above, but there are lowercase new Wreckers by the end of the series, and Carnivac's character is a really close match for Mystery Character #2. So I'm not sure what's up with that, but I'm definitely intrigued by these character descriptions. (I think they're not the same, but Carnivac's wiki page is a REALLY CLOSE MATCH for that second character, and I don't know who they are, that their names are blocked out. It kind of implies characters we know, at least from legacy continuities? I want to knowwwwwwww)

HMMMM well i pretty much finished it and i still don't REALLY know how i feel about it but there's one thing that is making me Very Frustrated And Upset Spoiler: event in late chapter okay so sideswipe and sunstreaker definitely raped jazz. that's a thing that happened. they def raped their bio-mom. it basically never comes up again. no hard feelings after jazz is repaired for his extensive injuries, even though he's harassed for his reputation for being a whore because he said it was consensual so no one would investigate who the perpetrators were. the twins don't ever even express any guilt?? they're like 'sunstreaker you fucking idiot i can't believe you did this thing that is going to result in punishment for us' ?????????? they are not punished!!! at NO POINT does anyone even say 'hey it's super super fucked up that you guys raped your superior officer/FUCKING BIO-MOM and don't even feel like you did anything wrong' and then there's this 100k long spinoff fic that centers around the twins and mirage and ??? it never comes up there either??? AND the twins get all OFFENDED AND DISGUSTED that jazz doubts their ability to control themselves in the face of their own desires vs. someone else's trauma and im just??? YOU LITERALLY RAPED YOUR ESTRANGED BIO-MOM!!!!!! and i mean it basically happened because sunstreaker is glitched and it was either 'get killed by berserking sunstreaker' or 'get raped by berserking sunstreaker' and jazz chose rape, but the twins have absolutely no problem holding jazz's EXTENSIVE trauma and glitched processor against him, LITERAL MILLENIA LATER i'm just!!!! so mad!!!! I want for this to be Acknowledged, otherwise what was even the point of including it??? why write that scene if it was never going to have any consequences!!! ANYWAY i needed to type that out otherwise it was gonna keep eating at me. back to frustrated reading.

I love the Dinobots. All of the Dinobots are so great. Like, yeah, the Wreckers with their moral quandries are cool and all, but the Dinobots give no shits about that kind of stuff. They just kill things.
