I love music and I'm always looking for more. This ends up giving me weird music. So like I guess the weirdest stuff I listen to is Nails, Oneohtrix Point Never, Death Grips, and vaporwave. Give me some more weird stuff.
Regurgitator. The quintessential gross aussie band. I love themmmmmmmm. Tu Plang and Eduardo and Rodriguez Wage War on T-Wrecks are probs the weirdest in their discography. Bluejuice is another aussie band that gets weird (at least on their Problems album, give Hummanumafeeb a listen)
Not really sure what counts as "weird", but here, have some bands I listen to! Korpiklaani The Cramps Gogol Bordello
And a couple of different-genre covers of This Corrosion, just because. Original, for reference. In Extremo The BossHoss
If you want weird I can't recommend /r/experimentalmusic enough. It's packed with all sorts of stuff from the frontier of music. As for personal favorites, I'm really into Laibach. They managed to turn Queen's One Vision into... this They're rather notorious for their aesthetic, which has been an ongoing thing for more than thirty years. They're also the first foreign band to play in North Korea, which definitely counts for something. I'm also into Gyorgy Ligeti, The Boredoms, Recoil, Barnes and Barnes and many other uncommonly artistic bands.
@academicomelette - I did not expect to see a reference to Recoil in this thread and yes. Ah, so someone in Depeche Mode does have talent. The masterful, atmospheric (and sometimes horrifying - Vertigen and Black Box, augh) soundscapes honestly don't have much comparison that I can think of. Personally, I'm fond of strange (often, but not always, older) industrial and post-industrial music. X Marks the Pedwalk, Attrition, and, of course, mother of industrial music (well, besides Throbbing Gristle, of whom I am frankly not fond) Einstürzende Neubauten, come immediately to mind. Note that these links are to one of the respective bands' more accessible songs. Pretty much, if it's industrial and it's on Metropolis Records, I like it. (Really, there's only a few bands on Metropolis that I don't like)...
I've got a couple of Grimes songs saved, which tends to be pretty decent. There's also Apparat Organ Quartet, who's song Konami is just one of my favorites in general. What are some good vaporwave songs? I've heard a few vaporwave joke-meme songs, but nothing over a minute which is really unfortunate because I like the sound.
Einstuerzende Neubauten are so good. Halber Mensch is like a two-note bassline away from being frickin a capella, and it's still clearly an industrial song.
I don't know if you people have heard Merzbow, but like from reading all the comments and hearing some of the bands, I feel like you guys may enjoy it. Also this weird thing called danger music. I know I asked for weird stuff, but this honestly made me remember those things.
If you like Death Grips you'll probably like clipping. Their newest album is about the AI that runs a spaceship falling in love with one of the astronauts which I love. ...Also Daveed Diggs's lyrics kill me man how do you DO IT
Not really the same genres as... most everything listed above, but Wolves by Rag'N'Bone Man is absolutely phenomenal, especially if you watch it with this hannibal music video.
Yes! Apart from them, I listen a fair bit to Finntroll, Arkona, Turisas, Tyr, SuidAkrA, and In Extremo, and occasionally to Eluveitie, Ensiferum, and XIV Dark Centuries.
