world of warcraft: YOU ARE NOT PREPARED

    Vierran small and sharp

    I raided starting from the very end of Wrath, until last June, when I finally got so tired of it that I quit and have mostly been doing really well at not getting sucked back in. Holy paladin main, enh shaman is my favorite dps spec. Was generally in guilds that got like a couple bosses into heroic/mythic before the next raid opened.

    I am so excited for the Legion lore spoilers my friends have been giving me, even as I have no real desire to get Legion for myself. Knife crab is the most tempting thing I have seen so far.

    I mean, even from the start, Legion already has more dungeons and as many raids as WoD had. So fingers crossed, they won't fall flat on their faces again.

    (WoD was so bad.)

    i'm really glad i mostly skipped WoD. i wish i had been able to play more in MoP though. life was just too hectic for me to get as into it as i would have liked.

    MoP was a beautiful expansion though in general. Wasn't too much of a fan of the pandaren as playable characters, though; well, I won't play boys but pandaren guys were OK, but the women were just done WAY too cutesy. I stuck to my bitchy troll princess who complained about not being able to be a cannibal in public anymore.

    basically my entire roster is pandaren right now, but that's mostly because i'm not really a fan of most of the new models for the alliance races. then again most of my horde characters are tauren so maybe i'm just a gross furry.

    Honestly, MoP was pretty wonderful and I liked all of the stuff to do once you reached endgame. Also monk healing is mad fun, and the Pandaren starting zone is lovely.

    That said, Legion has it's highlights (and the Demon Hunter starting zone is much better paced and planned than the Death Knight zone.)

    fucking

    Malfurion's little "nyooooo" in Val'Shara though.
    Best expansion for all the wrong reasons.

    they really seem to be trying to cash in on nostalgia with this expac. realizing a LOT of the new zone music is remixes of existing music.

    I played from about the middle of vanilla till near the end of Wrath where they announced that stupid RealID thing. Eventually I ended up missing it so much I dipped back in, because there's so few things out there I can enjoy at all, that I might as well take the ones I can find where I find them - first in MoP, then around end of MoP, beginning of WoD, then again a little after WoD flying got released. Found a guild I get along with reasonably well, although I'm not out to them as trans, been raiding with them and enjoying it, and now I'm definitely enjoying Legion! Horde on Moon Guard.

    Mendacity I’m meaner than my demons

    Comparing the two intro experiences (the fight for the broken isles thing) reminds me as to why I initially rolled horde and why Alliance politics piss me off.

    Btw my charas are on Wyrmrest Accord, my 'main' is Kriilna on Alliance (Paladin Draenei who is Done With this Demon Shit).

    Man the artifact quests are so much fun. And the class hall quests. Even though it can be aggravating with multiple classes leveling together, it's really nice to have a radically different experience for each class.

    So I had to reroll on Alliance because I got to Ashenvale and abruptly lost all sympathy for the horde under their warlord at that point in the story, and it hurt my soul >.>
    Now for the first time I can't see a way for them to just sit down and talk it out because it seems the horde is being led by a madman @.@ wtf Garrosh, working with the Twilight Hammer to fucking mass sacrifice people and raise Not-C'thulu?? I mean I was pleased that my years and years old thoughts of 'something isn't right with that glaive' were correct, but goddamn.
    Playing a night elf druid, and my journey from Darnassus to Ashenvale was basically just littered with tears at seeing all the destruction. Having to ID the bodies of NPC's I recognized from a destroyed town I used to RP as my home hit me super hard >.>
    Picked up a cat figurine from the ruins. Trash loot, worthless. But a relic anyway, and I stuck it in my bank. Along with a pocketwatch that I dug up doing one quest that KINDLY told me it stopped at the time the area was shattered. Talk about invested, holy fuck. I feel legit fury toward the horde, more particularly Garrosh, for exacerbating the struggles of the people trying to recover from some kind of natural disaster. That's fucking low, man. Leave the elves alone, they just want to tend their trees in peace.
    I hope I get to talk to Thrall at some point and chew his fucking ear off for not taking the warchief position back.

    I can't wait for you to get to some of the post-Cata stuff. :D

    @PRelations
    I'M SO INVESTED. I'M LEVEL 27 I STARTED THAT ELF TODAY.
    Also goddamn, loving playing the feral druid now. I love that my pelt as a cat changes colour with my hair. I also take Blizzard's oversight in giving the female druids a STAG travel form as canon compliance with the quietly NB headcanon I have going for my character.
    Even though I'm not on an RP server, I still kinda RP everything to myself anyway. I'll toggle walk on when approaching faction leaders, bow to them, and then kneel while reading the quest stuff. I also gave many refugees hugs.
    I have an AWESOME staff that blooms in flowers every now and then, but I hardly get to see it because 99% of my time is spent shapeshifted. I am a furry feline assassin. That can bring moonfire down on yo' ass.
    Also I've been hugely confused by night elf mages, because that didn't use to be a thing. Can't wait to get to explanations of why that's now acceptable.

    Also goddamn Malfurion and Tyrande are a hot power couple. I've been rooting for them to reunite since I was 13, I'm so so happy for them ;u;

    @KathyGaele unfortunately the explanation of nelf mages was almost entirely in one of the books, and also a short event that happened in Darnassus pre-Cataclysm launch where the mages were seeking an audience with Tyrande. Tauren paladins/priests got a similar thing in Thunder Bluff.

    oh yay we do have a wow thread!!! so i've played on/off for... like...ever. my dad's been playing since beta & he got me into it i wanna say around burning crusade times? i stopped playing for several years and only came back on for like a month when my dad needed me to add a character to our guild, then i would realize i was paying money to do chores and stop again. but i've been enjoying it right now, especially w/ the new legion content. i'm super clueless when it comes to wow lore and i don't do any of the raiding stuff but it's fun just wandering around questing with my dad.

    so i pre-ordered legion & boosted my fav character (Nellee the gnomlock engineer who has survived like two different server transfers and the whole "soulstones are useless!!! screw you if you don't know how to play your character anymore!!" thing) to 100 from 64, and then made a demon hunter to play with my dad. it's super fun actually getting to experience an expansion right when it comes out, instead of "oh... well, when i get to that level, i'll be able to play it." i still haven't actually played any of the MoP content, and i basically skipped all of WoD

    also

    did y'all find the fucking charlie the unicorn reference on that random mountain in azsuna? me and my dad accidentally glided our way up there and i promptly lost all of my shit. fucking blizzard.

    and also also, here is my Favorite Child
