@The Frood Abides are Alabaster and/or Sarnai within 5 ft. of the mobile Clarkesque orchid? also, how far is Lyriae from melee range with it? @swirlingflight @thegrimsqueaker does either of you want to use a ranged attack/something with a big area of effect which would necessitate clearing the space around the monster? 'cause if not Lyriae's gonna get up in that guy's personal space and do two +3d6 damage sneak attacks. >:)

 

@esotericPrognosticator Every square on the map is 5ft, but every 2nd diagonal counts as 10. Since I didn't consult any of you on where you were at the start of combat, though, I'll say you can reach A5 in one move. Because I'm nice.

 

Boy oh boy, am I feeling the difference between Sarnai (one of the first 5e characters I made) and some of the latest ones. I've started a love affair with decent constitution and cantrips that can do more damage....

No big area of effect from me, Sanrai's a delightful fragile melee idiot. She's gonna draw her weapon and whisper viciously at the first plant to get herself pumped up.

I might want to use a ranged attack that requires you moving in a few turns, but I think this cantrip doesn't require that anyone move so long as the targets are in range. that said, I only have one fireball slot, and I'm not sure I want to waste it here but I will if I must

ahem. thanks, yes, that is very nice. movement's separate from action and bonus action, right? like, would getting to A5 prevent me from using my action or bonus action to attack?

 

Movement is separate, yeah (though you can Dash and use your action to move again).

aw, fuck, it spits like noxious acid, doesn't it. 18 Dex save... and a nat 1 Wis save. oh boy. you don't add ability modifiers to saving throws, right? also, if this is its attack, are you not gonna tell us if our attacks landed until the end of the round, or?

edit thanks to @swirlingflight: with ability modifiers, the Dex save is 22. and I think you can't do anything to a nat 1? but in any case my ability modifier is +1, lol.

 

Ability modifiers, and proficiency for the two we're proficient in. Or else my scores would be even more tragic.

Alabaster's ""common sense"" strikes again! :P although, I mean. apparently Lyriae hates plants so much that she has actively thrown her common sense out the window, lol.

although, I mean, how many HP can a plant have, honestly. if a 18 lands Lyriae just dealt enough damage in one attack to kill anyone in the party. although we are rather a frail party...

 

@esotericPrognosticator this is a reactive ability. And luckily for you, the WIS save is contingent on failing the DEX. : )

Speaking of which. @swirlingflight and @Wiwaxia, could I get grapple checks (pick Athletics or Acrobatics) and WIS saves from you, please?

 

A second, separate Wis check?

Athletics = 3, aka a nat 1 +2, and the second WIS Saving Throw = 14.
My WIS rolls very reliably.
