that was 100% intentional, lol, since I knew at least some Strength checks would be Athletics specifically and she absolutely sucks ass at just regular Strength checks. but yeah, she was a street fighter—when she wants to tackle someone, they get tackled. also she climbed buildings and shit. she just can't deadlift.

also, I kinda love how Lyriae is becoming the heavy-hitting flying-tackling robustly-HP'd tank of the party despite being 115 lb. with Str 8 and Const 10. this fuckin' party, man, what do we think we're doing.

anyway, Lyriae's Dex save is 15 + 3 + 4 for 22. she keeps getting 22s for Dex shit, lol. and the Wis save is 9 + 1 for 10, but I'm betting that's irrelevant.

hmm... is the logical process here that Alabaster gets splashed with acid before Lyriae grapples and moves them? 'cause I'd think if Lyriae's carrying them when the acid hits, if she makes the Dex save, wouldn't that be for both of them as a unit? so it wouldn't matter that Alabaster is stunned—they wouldn't need a Dex save anyway. I don't want them to take more acid damage... they are so frail... :c

oh, is that what they're called? yes, yes they are. unless you really fuckin' hate plants and have a to hit/Dex check bonus of +7 plus 3d6 sneak attack damage! :D have I mentioned I love rogues? I love rogues. (the hilarious part of all of this is that despite Lyriae's mortal plant feud I personally have 13 houseplants in my room, four of which are in fact orchids. no self-inserts here, no sir!)

also, Frood, good luck on your test!

as long as they don't die, and the rest of us don't die, we've got things we can do.

sarnai can sing a very soothing song that'll pep up that hp right quick

I'm guessing Alabaster can't Lay On Hands on themselves... which is a shame, because that's the party's best healing spell. WHO THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO PUT TOGETHER A PARTY WITH AN AVERAGE HP OF 26 AND NO CLERIC, GUYS. D: also, that reminds me—you're playing a bard, and I'm very disappointed so far in your lack of musical accompaniment! I expect audio clips, or at the very least sheet music! >:(

No I'm pretty sure I can lay on hands myself, unless they changed it from previous editions. I can just softly caress my own cheek and be restored.

Waiting on the wis save til Frood gets back on what Lyriae is doing.
Can I intentionally fail a check? If not grapple is 14+0

yeah, it pops the second you stab it to death. by the time you grapple Alabaster they've already been splashed. even if you'd done it in reverse order it's pretty damn hard to both dodge yourself and pull someone else out of the way of an attack, so saves are still individual. you can Aid someone on a saving throw but that takes an action.

@Wiwaxia Lyriae beats that anyway, but I'm pretty sure you can intentionally fail. And yeah, you can lay hands on yourself.

will get this clusterfuck on the road tomorrow afternoon. back to studying!

HOW TF DID YOU MANAGE TO GET THAT MUCH LESS HP THAN THE SQUISHY WIZARD
I keep reading this as "ah-ooo." took me way too long to remember that attack of opportunity is a thing
np! I'm still trying to decide if I want to fireball the crap out of the plants. and I think I missed a step w my last turn, but I could be misremembering from prev game, so I'm not sure? bluh, don't worry about it until tomorrow

but if I do decide to fireball the crap out of the plants, how many do you think I could hit w the one shot I have?

also, would taking out the bird do anything?

Depends on whether you're willing to hit Sarnai.

And there's only one way to find that out!

something tells me that seeing exactly how friendly my fireball can get is a bad idea. at least until our paladin is ready to get handsy

go ahead and just fuckin' nuke the damn hummingbird—I think Lyriae and Stella (and possibly Sarnai) have got the orchidmen covered, especially since only two of them can stand in the doorway at once. there can't be that many, and I'm pretty sure Lyriae can kill two of them per turn if I roll well. ...on second thought, though, don't nuke the hummingbird. do you have sleep or a similar incapacitating spell? or a minor-damage cantrip that won't eat up your whole turn? we'd better make sure that the hummingbird can be affected by magic before you try and fireball it. evidently it's not attacking, so it's not super urgent, but yeah, I think that's something Liron should try.

save the fireball, i think, I doubt we need it here.

    WIS save 10+3-1=12

Both Sarnai and Alabaster passed their WIS saves, so everybody will get to act next round. First comes Liron, then the monsters.

Sarnai = 19hp and deeeliiiighted to be in the doorway. She's probably gonna scream soon. Thank goodness for shields and AC.

Eta and I finally remembered that bardic inspiration dice only last 10 min from the time they're given, which is why I didn't retroactively give any. But if anyone needs to make death saves, I will be there.

    Anyone but me.

missoyashirou Someone please give me a tiny dog to play with

@The Frood Abides 15 (10 + 5 (Acrobatics)) and 23 (17 + 5) for the grapples, and 12 (11 + 1 (WIS)) and 3 (2 + 1) for WIS saves. I'm not going to be pinned but my brain is probably going to be cookie-butter. Also, do we have any bludgeoning, or is the slashing/piercing/bludgeoning damage not a thing anymore as of 5e?
