My Bardic Inspiration dice can be used on so many kinds of rolls, you don't even know.

I should make a nice neat bullet list in my character sheet for reference.


ALSO! I make no promises about consistently offering soundtrack ideas, but I can do so when the mood strikes me.
Any genre requests, or more specifically, any requests for genres you'd like associated with your characters?

 

I mean, I would appreciate your input as to which genre you think is appropriate for Lyriae, because I have no idea. :P

 

@missoyashirou OK, so it failed on the second Grapple roll. Yeah, critical hits only double damage dice rolled, not modifiers. (However, in 5e, they double all damage dice. So Alabaster would roll all their Divine Smite d8s twice, and Lyriae would roll her Sneak Attack d6s twice, for example. This surprised me when I found it out.)

And that shortsword crit, on top of the thunderwave, kills it. Roll DEX and WIS saves again, please.

EDIT: Also it doesn't matter since the 12 drops it anyway, but as a half-orc, you get to roll an additional damage die on melee crits. One of the reasons half-orcs make good Champion fighters. :)

 

Oh sweet, I didn't realize the extra damage! 5e is like the apology to 3.x's Wizard Supremacy I've been waiting ten years for!

Also, 15+3= 18 on the DEX, 17+1=18 on the WIS. Stella is just not having any of this Orchidman's combat bullshit today!

Yeah, that Orchidman is dead and Stella is unscathed.

Two adversaries left and 3 PCs' turns. You could probably end this fight before another round starts.

@Wiwaxia Yes. "interact with one object or feature of the environment for free."

 

@Wiwaxia Dueling specifically only applies to melee weapons, so just 6 damage.

I think I actually made the wrong call on @missoyashirou 's turn -- rereading the rules, you do have to attack with a light melee weapon first in order to get that bonus attack -- but I'm not going to retcon it, because it was my fault and it was in favor of the PCs.

Which reminds me, Misa, I don't see a feat on your character sheet. Did you just go with the ability score improvement at level 4?

@The Frood Abides can we attack the orchidman on the edge of the map, or do we have to wait till it moves onto the grid? also, @thegrimsqueaker, do you have something that can take both of those guys out at once? because Lyriae's damage without the sneak attack bonus is shitty, and she can only sneak attack the one next to Sarnai.

 

yeah, i just attacked the one off the grid.
also that one is barely standing so i think you two can do two for two pretty easily

 

I'd need everyone to get out of the way to cast fireball. otherwise I can just magic missile or scorching ray the fuck out of the one you can't sneak attack. do I need a clear line of sight for either of those spells, @The Frood Abides?

 

@thegrimsqueaker Scorching ray would suffer from cover since you're firing through your allies (bonuses to target's AC), but magic missile cannot miss.

 

oh that makes it easy. I can just do the "infriga" thing again and not even expend a spell slot

 

plus we'll probably want that fireball later and resting in a dungeon is gonna be dicey
