I was born in Georgia and I don't think my body has yet adjusted to living in places with temperatures lower than "sort of not warm, and damp". But see, I don't know if that counts as having trouble with dealing with the cold. It's just being cold a lot more than anyone else around me and hating it, and never going outside in winter, and wearing socks all the time because I'll freeze if I don't, and okay maybe I do have trouble dealing with the cold.

It means that the true villains of Harry Potter were all Hufflepuffs deep down inside.

Honestly if i were to use an animal as a definition of the phrase "death eater" honey badgers would fit quite nicely.

I mean, the experience itself was amazing! And I really loved it! It was just the results that I didn't like.

    sneks piles is good stuffs

interhouse harmony cool too. honestly sneks and badgers, sneks and birbs, all go well together. sometimes even sneks and catbirbs.

I may have strong gryph traits. mabbe. mabbe v. strong. *shifty eyes* But not strong enough to overcome my pragmaticism, sneakiness, and ambition.

I personally think of the houses as like... HP&SL are "group" where RC&GR are more individuality but then SL&GR are more "standing out/being great" whereas RC&HP are more knowing/doing great things (spotlight not necessarily focused on them).

Individuals within obv. not limited to these archetypes or whatever but overall yeah it's how I picture it.

JKR also like, based the houses on the elements, so Slytherin is water right?. Which I kinda find hilarious since they are also the house firmly based in tradition and heritage (which is freq. expressed in the books as conservatism). But then again earth and water arguably both have claims on heritage and wisdom. It's why I also headcanon HP as being kinda similar (but larger than that is also "I'll take the rest!") in that regard, hence HP&SL being bigger on "community/group/heritage" with RC&GR being more individualistic pursuits. (Not all of this is good for the Pottermore quiz, by the way. But I think a fair amount of it is. Though I think SL as a result does require being "alone" and "wanting to stand out" which the latter admittedly makes sense to me).

(Incidentally: SL as water means on Pottermore sorting you want "the path along the river"; also since water basically means healing then Draco becoming a healer makes a lot of sense especially in the aftermath of war and his Family's ruin.)

The houses do all need each other.

*I did not come up with this theory of the houses, by the by. That's something I came across in fandom in a couple places.

@Miraj Slytherin being community/group/heritage is an interesting house theory, I like it! It's similar to the Sorting Hat Chat house theory for Slytherin - also they both offer an explanation for the behaviour of Slytherins (how clannish and hostile to the other houses they were, why all of them left before the Battle of Hogwarts) that's something other than "they were all evil". Because if your primary values are tradition and loyalty, you're not going to stick around in a situation where you could wind up having to fight your friends or family, regardless of your personal opinion on whatever it is people are fighting about.

(Not to say the Slytherins in the books were actually secretly nice people. It's just that "because they're evil" isn't a convincing explanation of people's behaviour to me.)

i like the sl and hp = basing your moral code around loyalty to people, and rc and gf = basing your moral code around loyalty to ideas

like how narcissa malfoy turned against voldemort to save her son, while molly weasley let percy go because he aligned himself with the ministry

    edit: fixed name typo
