Okay. Okay so. Cloris has been ringing as off to me for a while. I was thinking, she's a violent kid on a planet full of violent kids and she's dangerously good at being a violent kid without a care in the world who she hurts, but that's kind of the culture, right? Well that wasn't quite sitting right with me because she was just too good, and the amount of power she held over Lu and Erskin was just... really really unbalanced. I was getting grooming vibes from their interactions with her but that didn't make any sense unless she was just a supernaturally good manipulator. But then other things started looking off too! She had A LOT of dead ex's. How quickly did she go through them? Why didn't she get a reputation that scared people off? And then this line... FUCK How old WAS she I wondered? I asked Aud. Turns out, she's 30. Erskin is 17-ish. As is everyone else Actually they're a bit older, 18-19 (except Galley who's 24). Lu was 14 or 15. SHE REALLY DID GROOM THEM HOLY SHIT. AAAHHHHHHH!!! KILL IT WITH FIRE. I KNOW SHE'S DEAD BUT KILL HER HARDER.
Aud, that is. You have made me hate a character more intensely than I have hated real life people in my life. Not hate them as a character. What an excellent character. What a terrifying womanchild, cruel, realistic, narcissistic. Well done.
YEAH I THINK THIS IS ONE OF THE WORST PEOPLE I EVER WROTE but thank you so much, I'm glad she came across like I was hoping and you'll get to hear more about her, I imagine, once Lu starts talking more about it. But that's for later! :D
pancho and bel are more like 18-19, so by our standards technically adults (and galley being the equivalent of 24 is a bit less questionable when you know bel's 19) but yeah, cloris definitely has a habit of picking on kids old enough to think they know what they're doing and don't need any advice about where they stick their bulges, but young enough that she can control them.
