I wonder if Ford will notice Norm hitting on his NPCs any quicker than he noticed Norm hitting on him. (Valiska noticed; Ford did not.)

He did notice Norm drooling in his tea over Sev, but Ford had a vested interest there in that HE wanted Sev, even if he couldn't admit it until Valiska said she felt guilty for thinking those thoughts about Sev, giving him the opportunity to say, "let's share those thoughts..."

Further Radiant Historia DnD AU headcanons: Rosch is the #1 cause of retcons, because he's playing a gnome wizard and has only ever played fighters and barbarians before and never preps anything but straight damage spells. Hence a certain amount of "...how about we just say you had Feather Fall prepared instead of one of those Burning Hands casts." Also stuff like:

Incidentally, the answer for RH DnD group AU which I will keep talking about to my audience of two people is Raynie, who is playing a half-orc fighter with a charisma score of 6 and keeps trying to convince Stocke that she should get bonuses to the roll based on her character's strength stat if he takes his shirt off. (Unlike Marco, the lesson she took from the Tomb of Horrors experience was "don't take the game too seriously because your character could die at any time for no reason.")

 

omg, Rosch totally would. Sonja eventually explains to him in exasperation there's a difference between lawful good and lawful stupid. And bless Raynie and her irreverence. Poor Stocke, the most longsuffering GM. :D

 

I can see Cronus pulling a "Dick Marvil" stunt (see The Binder of Shame) where his NPC does everything and he expects the other players to applaud.

 

Sonja is only there like half the time because she's on call at the hospital, and Stocke desperately wishes she was there more often so he has someone SENSIBLE in the group.

The #2 cause of retcons, incidentally, is Eruca and the fact that the dice hate her. Plus she's never played before, is playing a healing-focused cleric, and keeps wandering off on her own. Stocke keeps having to remove monsters from encounters or hastily change them to undead to stop her from dying. At one point the group was trying to figure out plot stuff and someone suggested there had to be a necromancer involved because they kept fighting so many undead and Stocke was just like. Screaming internally.

 

You think Cronus is bad about DMPCs, you should see what happens when Vriska forces people to let her DM.

 

People didn't think Aranea's was that bad, since she mostly used them to exposit endlessly about worldbuilding details that nobody else cared about and occasionally point them in the direction of the plot, until they got to the campaign final boss and it one-shotted them and Aranea's NPC soloed it and ascended to godhood.

 

On second thoughts, the Amporae are probably the guy who builds a campaign to glorify the character played by whoever they're hitting on and humiliate everyone else's.

 

They can do both. Their GMPC is the ~DESTINED SOULMATE~ of the person they're hitting on, and the culmination of their love is necessary to fulfill the prophecy and save the world. :::PPP

 

She once rolled a natural 20 on a seduce check against an aboleth. Everyone just kinda stared at the die for a minute, trying to think of a response that was okay to say out loud when a 9-year-old was building a dice tower in the corner of the room.

Ford wouldn't do the "humiliate everyone else's" part but he's terrible at flirting and you probably can tell who he's trying to hit on by how things go for their character...
