[Whisper carefully pets the hedgie, and resists the urge to give face scritchies in addition to the smooth pettins. Tiny terrestrial animals are not birds, and might not like the same things! Every so often, his optics flash white as he saves an image.] Oh, look at you, lovely, aren't you just the sweetest?

[Whisper's wings flutter, and his smile somehow manages to go wider. He ducks his head a little, like that'll hide anything.]

-curiously watches the hedgehog from a distance. observing it. also to keep from freaking the thing out by overcrowding it-

 

(The hedgehog lifts its chin to indicate that chin scritches are also an acceptable form of affection.)

[Oh no it is too cute! Cooing quietly, Whisper takes the hint and supplies chin scritches.]

 

*gives careful chin scritches*

 

(The chin scritches are well received! The hedgehog radiates welcome for @Jamethiel Oddclaw, although there may not be room for additional chin scritchers at the moment.)

 

-steps forward and lightly brushes a gloved finger against the grain of its spines-

 

(The hedgehog's quills catch on the glove; it adjusts itself with a small shudder and a wiggle. Its quills ripple and then relax again. The hedgehog does not particularly dislike petting against the grain, but neither does it enjoy it much.)

 

-oh noooooo. jame frowns and revises her tactics. curiously pets the head?-

[To make up for this affront-- and give Jamethiel a little more room to pet-- Whisper returns to smooth pettins with the grain of the hedgy's quills.] Shhh, it's okay, he didn't mean it...

 

"Brier! A creature as prickly as you are!"

 

You know a Brier too then? A prickly woman who insists on fussing and fretting over you? Or, I suppose, your brother possibly.

 

The giant Kendar narrows her eyes in that look Jame knows well, exasperation at Jamenot taking things seriously mixed with amusement she tries to keep off her face.

"It more resembles you, Ten," she says after a moment. "It looks small and cute yet hurts creatures that are way larger."

 

It looks like a Brier and sounds like a Brier.

 

Brier looks at the other Knorth For a long silent moment.

"I like to think I'm helping Ten learn responsibility and to think of the needs of those in her command," she says then, keeping stone-faced.

 

My Brier would say something similar, I am sure. Something which I appreciate. It might scandalize some of the other lords but I prefer that sort of input from my Kendar. Is there a Rue and Burr hellbent on feeding her as well?
