The tone gets a little more serious and the stakes a little more dire as it goes, if that helps any; but it never completely loses its sense of humor. And I think it keeps a certain levity as it goes. YMMV as to whether that pings your cheesedar.

 

Fics? Heheh, I did a thing. I can't figure out how to link on mobile (my new apartment internet isn't on yet) but it's on AO3 and it's called "Debriefing." Pidge centric one shot, with queer and brain weird themes and hints of Pidge/Hunk.

By the way, why does a fandom with color coded main characters have dumb portmanteau ship names? I refuse to call my new favorite ship "Punk". It should be "G/Y" or "dandelion" or "left hand yellow" or something.

(I was never actually in Gundam Wing fandom but I'll always be jealous of their ship names.)

Hunk/Pidge is my main jam so far, but I haven't finished writing any yet myself (I've been living on the kink meme, and haven't seen any prompts for it there that I like.)

Does anyone have Homestuck Classpect headcanons for the team? I think Pidge is a Knight of Space (I feel this mostly because I am mentally connecting her to Jade Harley.) Shiro is probably a Blood Player. And I kind of think Allura is a Sylph Class, but I'm not sure what her Aspect would be.

 

Also, I am writing Horrible Fic that is Horrible. Posted the first chapter in all of it's horribleness yesterday.

I really don't think they'll kill Shiro off. Yes, the S2 trailer sure does make it look like they might but hell, you can pick two minutes worth of footage out of anything and make it look like anything is going to happen. Now, hurting him or getting him recaptured by the Galra or otherwise benching him for a few episodes and forcing Keith to temporarily take over the black lion and whoever else (Allura pls pls pls) to take over a lion? Oh hell yeah, that I can totally see.

But... like... maybe I hallucinated this and I can't watch to confirm right this second, but don't they straight up show Shiro plugging the black bayard into the weapon-forming thingy in the opening? You know, the bayard that as of the S1 finale, Zarkon is still waving around? Unless Dreamworks animated that bit for the express purpose of deliberately fucking with us, which is not outside the realm of possibility, we at least have some indication that a) he's going to get the bayard back and b) he's going to at least have a chance to plug that shit in and make badass happen.

also the Nerdist is like "but where's Lotor, why haven't we seen him yet" my dude, I could not possibly give less of a fuck about Lotor right now

why does everyone think based on the trailer that shiro is going to die or have a near death experience? based on how much his ptsd is emphasized, i'm guessing he's kidnapped, reprogrammed, and then used against the other lions, especially given that his shot is seen juxtaposed against harrod and zarkon. the "if i don't make it out of here, i want you to pilot the black lion" thing is because keith in the 1980s original piloted the black lion and shiro (or... sven...?) is the blue lion. and if it takes five to form voltron, and only four headshots were shown before voltron was formed, i'm willing to bet that a character like darrell stoker might show up to get it back to five.

plus, logistically, the team can't stay as small as it is forever. we need a supporting cast. there's too few people imo.

hi i have something for you to watch and the fandom is full of military gay. i was a huge part of that fandom and basically made my otp the fandom's collective otp. which is pretty analogous to shiro/pidge. so, uh.

I would be A-OK with Shiro getting recaptured and just. like. getting the absolute shit broken out of him and that leading to a situation where he's finally rescued and seems okay for a while but it's becoming increasingly harder for him to hide the constant state of this-close-to-a-breakdown he's in and he's still trying to be Team Dad and the rest of the team really tries to not notice but finally just sits him down and goes "no. enough. you helped us keep it together out here, now please just let us help you."

ain't that just the shits, first time in literally years I get kicked in the face with a SUDDEN BURNING NEED to write gnarly hurt/comfort fic and it's gotta be one of those fandoms
