how do you fuse sprites? like, what program do you use? i feel like there's so much neat sprite editing stuff i haven't learned
i use bondage GIMP the interface is a fucking pain in the ass, yeah, it took me like a year to get used to it and i'm still finding new shit, but it's free and fairly powerful and easy to get plug-ins and extensions for
@furrylatula OH yeah, sorry, I missed that. I use GIMP for drawing, but I haven't figured out how to use a quarter of the features, and I tried sprite editing with it once. Never again. >-> I've heard good things about firealpaca, might switch to that.
did some star trek pixels for my au!!! (you can barely see dave's combadge but it's there sob) these uniforms are loosely based of voyager/TNG outfits that i customized until they appealed to me--rose is captain, jade is chief science officer, dave's a linguist, and karkat's a medic (will edit if i do more)
I am a hipster and penguin fan who never uses a program anyone else recognizes; therefore, of course, my program of choice for pixel art is actually mtPaint. Its layer handling is bizarre (it stores each layer as a PNG and then has you save the layer order as "layers.txt", and then when you want to resurrect the image you open the text document), but it has some really good palette management tools that work particularly well with small palettes.
Apparently it's supposed to be short for "Mark Tyler's Painting program". Those are some Asgore-tier naming skills.
Double reply: I like SAI for pixel stuff. I think it's basically perfectly acceptable and good. Although money I guess.
saw a new canon trickster design and i Had To (there's a lot i'd like to fix later maybe, but it's two am and i'm kinda happy with it so shrug. will fix white background later fixed)
concept: grimdark fef is basically inverse trickster dirk everyone else is spoopy and edgy but she's just excited to meet big cuttles she's havin such a good time and i love her
