So! Less than a week till the new season comes out! Hopes, dreams, desperate wishes for what shall come?

Thoughts on first episode of VS:
It looks like it's going to be a lot like Vivid without all of the reincarnation drama. So not a whole lot of world-saving, lots of girls punching each other. And not even Subaru Fisto style punching each other.
For all that it might be a very good show on its own merits, I am slightly disappointed by the further drifting away from what I loved about the original three Nanoha series, which was that Nanoha was a mobile aerial artillery platform that Befriended villains. Vivio is cute and all, but she lacks her mother's characteristic battlecraziness and tendency to blow people up.
I'm going to watch the next few episodes anyway, just to see how it evolves. I still really wish that Innocent would get an anime.

Yeah, an Innocent anime would be amazing...

I like Fuuka and Rinne though (well, what we SEE of Rinne) and look forward to them punching friendship into each other.

    OH ALTHOUGH
We might - maybe - get something like that soon.
    Because.

I love this show! (As attested by my Avatar). Haven't been keeping up with Vivid/Force too much, and that last bit... well, it's certainly a title. So I dunno if I'm too into current happenings, but I'm always interested in Nanoha-related shenanigans. (Even if I did apply a bit of a Heavy Metal filter to my... headcanon?)

:D Woo, another fan! And a Nove fan, I see. My favorite combat cyborg is Cinque. And I like Rein Eins and the Materials and the Inter-Middle Veterans... actually I love a lot of the characters. And the Devices of course!

I really like Subaru. It's been a while since I watched StrikerS so I don't remember if she's as stupid as the fandom tends to portray her as, but she's definitely enthusiastic. Also gay.

Subaru is probably my favorite character. (I just have never drawn a satisfactory picture of her for avatar use.) And I don't think she's stupid. She may not exactly be brilliant and certainly isn't book smart, but mostly she's just impulsive.
And rainbows are straighter than her, but that's another matter entirely.

Cinque is pretty cool as well. I like pretty much all the Numbers, and Nove is kinda like a more aggressive Subaru (somehow). Reinforce Einz/Night Sky is cool for the little bit we see her. I never played Gears or watched much Vivid... though.
The Devices are generally quite epic but the only one I'd really count as a character is Mach Caliber.

I am generally a bit of an anomaly in that StrikerS is my favorite season. Also, if permitted to ramble about my fanfic-type thingies, I will not stop. Just as a warning.

Aww, StrikerS was good. I liked finding out more about how the TSAB worked and all. Also, fanfic-type things? We don't have enough conversation in this thread, so feel free to ramble.

If we're talking Devices, there's that scene in As where we learn a bit about Raising Heart's personality,
namely that she's probably a good bit of the reason behind Nanoha being the White Devil
which makes me absolutely love her.

Unfortunately, the fanfic that I like have all finished like years ago. But there are still some doujins coming out every once in a while. Nanofate.us does a lot of doujin translation, and just finished translating a ridiculously fluffy doujin by Kohagura set around the time of As. Most of Kohagura's stuff is ridiculously fluffy NanoFate stuff.

I don't find too much fanfiction I really like. Game Theory was okay, as was... whatever it was Samurai Penguin Studio was writing. Nanofate shipping is great and all, but by itself does

Yeah, that was one of the aspects I liked about it. There's a kind of professionalism to the whole thing.

Are you sure you want me to ramble? It may be dangerous. Though I do kinda struggle to explain things properly.

Anyways, I've got a biiig fanfic I've been working on for way too long, almost since I was introduced to the series, in addition to a vast architecture of headcanons which I am stubbornly sticking to after they got disproved(?). It's a classic portal crossover between MGLN and, of all things, Warhammer 40,000. It started with a simple 'which would win' type of thing argument with my friends, and evolved into a massive affair, wherein an Imperial troop carrier and Ork Kroozer accidentally warp themselves across the multiverse and crash on Mid-Childa, and promptly get to breaking things. And then there are massive awesome battles and Bad Things. I've written probably a third of it in fits and spurts, but it goes so slowly. I posted in on FFN, where it generated both a degree of interest and salt. Elaborate details were worked out. There were raids, line defenses,
(I'll admit to being on the TSAB's side more or less, but the Imperium of Man and 40k in general being such complete opposites makes them a pretty interesting foil.)

The first parts of it were, frankly, horrible, and the rest slow, but I recently decided to start rewriting as a 3d comic. Which hasn't really been accomplished yet, but I've been learning a fair bit, and it gives me the chance to rewrite the earlier portion with a better understanding of the story flow and general writing. And honestly I think the story works better graphically, both for action and dialogue.

    Sounds interesting!

Also a new Innocent chapter came out today and I am delighted. Also Jail seems to be flirting spades hardcore with Granz.

@BaseDeltaZero If you like Numbers, have you read NGTM-R's stuff? A Numbered Existence is a set of connected oneshots about the Numbers post-StrikerS, mostly about Sette but with at least one chapter on each of the others. He's also got two series about the Wolkenritter. Mostly military scifi, or at least focused on the military side of the MGLN universe.

Yeah, I know that guy. (We've had some... disagreements... in the past). Not sure I really read all of those stories, but they're decent enough.

    Have a random poster.

So, for my fanfiction, I found myself wondering about means of transporting people who can't fly along with people who can. The Bureau has helicopters of course, and I'm probably going to use those for this instance. But still. When they need to go faster, it'd be useful.

So I'm thinking of at least two methods. For those with some magical capability, they can attach to the lead mage with an anchor tether and use their aerobarrier to create a lifting surface. For those without or to have a bit less of a 'tail'. A ridiculous baby-carrier looking getup. If it's stupid, but it works, it's not stupid.

    SO UH.

Remember the movie that isn't dead? It updated its cast list.

......I gotta say I did NOT see that coming. And someone in the Nanoha discord channel mentioned. The title of the movie, that never made sense? Reflection? Isn't that a good way to describe the Materials...
