Thanks for helping, but... I unzipped the thing to the folder in which my game is, yet I see no such folder.
Make sure you downloaded SMAPI 0.40.1.1. Unzip the contents into your main stardew folder, which should be under C://Games/Steam/Steamapps/Common if you got the game through Steam. That zipped folder should have the StardewModdingAPI.exe and a folder called Mods. I just redownloaded it to check and it did for me.

@tinyhydra it's OK! The game just updated yesterday (as I'm sure you know) and it's best experienced with a new person IMHO
You'll probably want to plant at least one of everything you can, just so you'll have the stuff for quests and/or bundles. For your staple crops, you can go the skill route (plant whatever takes the least amount of time to grow, giving you the most harvests and grinding up your Farming skill sooner) or the money route, which has been figured out with math on the wiki. And don't forget never to plant anything that won't be ready in time, I've done that an embarrassing number of times.
Spoiler: Emily + new quest spoilers What even - Oh god, I will never have that much money in my farmer life... Also according to the wiki, the statues in the Witch's house area can erase your ex-spouse's memories post divorce and also make your kids disappear. Damn, that's hardcore

Thank you @Ruevian for introducing us to mods holy fuck. This is her 'this is my honeymoon phase I'mma be fancy' outfit. Thanks to that dresser mod, she now also has 'casual' and 'hard graft' outfits with matching hair and I'm super happy ;u;
... can we update our current games to the update? because i'm pretty sure I had enough money rolling in that I could buy that ...
