My feet are under two blankets and cold. My back is naked and exposed to the open air and warm. I don't think this is how this is supposed to work.

 

I was walking home past a small forest when it occurred to me that tree:forest::fish:shoal. I can't think of any collective nouns for a specific plant, though. A stone of cherry trees? A track of strawberries? (because they reproduce by sending off runners, you see).

 

I just hit the point in reading and talking about colour theory where I'm not sure if blue-yellow is a contrast or a harmony, because both models exist.
colours, man.

I think my favorite thing about color theory is that you can say that the roy g biv model is a lie made by christians to further their religious doctrine and be sorta right

scishow had a video on it, but iirc at one time, cyan and ultramarine were considered different colours and thus, counted separately, not together as "blue"

 

That too.

Really, which hues are considered separate hues, and which are primary and which are secondary changes from model to model. It's kind of fascinating.

 

basically, the idea that a rainbow has seven colors was asserted because the guy deciding on that model believed that 7 is a divine number, thus there had to be seven distinct colors, so he decided that blue and indigo are different colors, when they're really similar and usually not distinguishable as separate colors
