I raised a couple brats already, can't be that hard to deal with kid mechs. They grow fast.

Mm, depending on your frame of reference, this may be untrue. It took two or three centuries for my sparklings to reach maturity - consequences of growing in the frame, I understand.

Sev spent some time trying to think of how to answer, but in the end, it looks like Valiska found the right words after all... which is good, because he wasn't sure at all that his socioemotional intelligence was enough to untangle this mess. Taking time to think would probably help everyone. He accepts a new cup of tea, kissing Valiska's temple as he does so.
