I don't think the problem with Pearl is that she's not with Rose (because I honestly think she is), it's that she's all like: And she's worked 1000's of years to feel worthy of her relationship with Rose and along comes what seems to be another human pet and like... I can see that irritating someone who's insecure in herself but at the same time knows how much more effort she's made, more effort than a human with it's short lifespan could ever even attempt.

On a stupid note one of my favorite things about this episode is that Greg listens to space rock. Space rock is some of my favorite music. Even if the genre appears to just be a maddening clusterfuck of everything from Spiritualized to the Flaming Lips to Failure. Partly because of that really. BUT LIKE SCI-FI AND THERAMINS AND KEYBOARDS. Or just sci-fi and guitars and shit that makes people go "omg this sounds like knock off nirvana hatred" (Failure is not knock off Nirvana and I will fight you about them being so much better). I really hope some people don't take what he said as just a joke and like. Actually look up the genre. Because it's great.

Yes indeed but darnit you have no idea how much I love space rock. IT IS MY EVERYTHING. Ladies and Gentlemen we are Floating in Space is just such an important album. And Mercury Rev's Holes is great. Yes they've been called a shitty copy cat of the Flaming Lips but god dammit Mercury Rev has some really charming stuff. As does the Spaceman 3. Weirdly I've yet to really listen to much Pink Floyd? Even though they're important to the genre and also one of the big inspirations to Susumu Hirasawa early stuff with Mandrake. It is a great joke but just urgh. That music.
I did not know that was a genre of music, but I am not very music knowledgeable. I recognize the name Susumu Hirasawa, though! I bought the soundtrack for Paranoia Agent even though I am not sure if I ever actually watched that the whole way through. Love the soundtrack. I opened up "I Think I'm in Love" and this is not bad? I am. Picky about music. XD
Hirasawa has a lot of great stuff. The two albums most dear to my heart by him are Sim City and SWITCHED-ON LOTUS though. Both are dedicated to his time in Thailand and the transwomen he met there. The latter also serves as a memorial album and Mermaid Song opens with the names of the women who died. The Secret of the Flowers of Phenomenon is great too. Also silly trivia about Paranoia Agent's soundtrack. The lyrics of Ichi's theme Jouken Douji are from the Thai alphabet song. They translate as "Turtles have heavy shells, people say they walk slow!"

...Is it sad that MECHA HITLER actually makes sense for some of them? I mean, I'd be upset if someone shapeshifted into Mecha Hitler in front of me. And he'd definitely be something I'd want to see defeated by powerful aliens.
Kind of but it makes it more amusing in a way. Like it sounds ridiculous but for some it actually makes sense in a fashion. Also MECHA HITLER is just a fun thing to say. Which is awful to say but there you go. Kung-fuhrer Hitler was like the best part of Kung Fury.
This is one universe where introducing the Homestuck concept of "diamonds" causes quite a lot of confusion.
Connie would LOVE Homestuck. She would be like, "The themes of free will versus inevitability, caught up in timelines that have to happen but could only happen if people acted exactly like themselves! The sorting of characters into classes that aren't easy for them, but are good for them!" and Steven would be, "I think the rapping is really cool! But Vriska's kind of mean, even though I know her mom must have hurt her a lot."
